Wiefan, the Wies don't have Tiger's wealth, and the LPGA prize money is not nearly the same as the PGA. The situation is not the same. Tiger can win $1,000,000 or more per win, Michelle might get around $200,000 for a win and much, much less with a top 3. Tiger, according to Golf Digest is on his way to billionaire status, Michelle signed for roughly $10,000,000.

Those $700,000 appearance fees are a "Kings ransom"(assuming she is in demand) compared to what she might earn playing full time on the LPGA, especially considering all the young competition she'll face. As good as she is and could become I seriously doubt that Michelle will ever be as dominant as Annika has been these last 5 years.

The university I attended had credit by exam. It's mostly avaiable for Freshman & Sophmore courses (ie. language, history, math).

It has been my belief that Woods' management (IMG) sets his appearance fee at a level high enough to limit the number of requests. Just imagine how many would be asking for Woods if his fee were anywhere near that of other players.

Given the sizable boost Wie provides for both gate and viewers, I would expect a similar situation. If the fees are not exorbitant, they will be swamped with requests. As it is, the no fee U.S. events seem to provide many more invitations than can be accepted.

oh yeah....before I forget....about "appearance fees"....considering that this is MW's 1st season as a professional....I think she is doing QUITE well in the appearance fees department....I suspect that what they are paying her now will seem rather Small in the future....just my guess..anyway...see ya

Wiefan answered his part of this so now it's my turn IT........NO, my first sentence meant that we don't get anything official from the Wie Team, but that we know her and have followed her career so well.....and more than others on this DB, that we CAN GIVE educated opinions!!

If you don't agree with them, then that's your perogative, you don't HAVE to!!

In ANOTHER 5 years, Cleo, Michelle will not only be the Number one female golfer on the Rolex Ranking list, but WILL be more dominant than Annika is now!

Of course that's just my opinion and I could be.....NO, I don't even want to go there!

Oh, and BTW, everyone is making too much of that $700,000 appearance fee for the tournament in Korea...........If she does get many more of those, they won't be in the summer time when she is playing on the LPGA and PGA tours.....they will be in the fall and winter....which means sh will not be able to accept many of them until she finishes high school next June.

Two questions 1) Was it Stanford? 2) How far did it get you toward a degree?

Many universities let students place out of required freshman courses by taking tests or by very selectively using top AP scrores in certain classes. (Before everyone jumps in that Michelle is taking all AP classes this semester or whatever, students have to score generally a "4 or 5" on the AP test and then it is entirely up to the college whether to accept an AP test score as advanced credit toward college.) Not every college does. In any case, it doesn't get them very far toward getting a degree. It just gets them a little head-start on their college career by eliminating the need for selected required freshman year courses.

You didn't answer the question of how far the testing out of classes got you, or the other students, toward the degree. As the link I put in states, it just gets students out a few required classes. Stanford, for example, let students use AP tests to test out of one or two required classes in specific majors. Even the top students might only be excused from one or two classes. You can't make it very far toward a degree this way.

Besides, is the point of Michelle going to Stanford just to submit high school test scores and never to go to class? I don't get it.
