Unusual Caddy Blunder

Hi ya folks....I guess I am getting antsy waiting for Wiesy to start her Mexico Tournament...so I was just browsing articles...I came across this story in a "Korean Girls" Article...I would guess that maybe some of you have heard this before...but if not....here it is....very strange stuff...here it is....

Hee Young Park (age 21, rank 35, best finish: 2nd)

Yet to win on the LPGA, she did beat a high quality international field in a Korean event in 2005 that launched her career. A rookie in 2008 she played well, but has started this year with her best finish yet: 2nd at the Honda Thailand tournament. Victim of a bizarre incident in a Korean event when her caddie noticed playing partner Eun-Hee Ji had left a club behind so put it in Park's bag. Ji later called a 2-shot penalty on Park for having too many clubs and won the title!

now folks....how strange is this....hmmmm

anyway....have a good day...see ya!!

Now thats cold. However it is correct. Clubs in the bag are clubs in the bag. Eventually someone else would have said something, so unless she took the penalty she would signed for an incorrect score card because of the clubs and lost anyway and be dqd.

The caddie should be fired on the spot.

Unless this happened on the first tee and Park started the round with Ji's club in her bag (and assuming Park didn't "use" it), there is no penalty.

I think there must've been more to the story than reported.

From the Decisions:
Dec. 4-4a/8 Retrieving Another Player’s Lost Club

Q. A player carrying 14 clubs found another player’s club on the course. He picked up the lost club, put it in his bag but did not use it, and handed it in at the pro shop when the round was completed. Was the player in breach of Rule 4-4a for carrying 15 clubs?

A. No.

sounds like HeeJee might have felt the caddie put it in the bag so as to deprive her of the possibility of using it. I hope that's the case or I've lost all respect for her.

It kind of makes me wonder where the hell Ji's caddie was. He didn't notice that his player had left a club?

Hi ya folks...I have a question for Lojo and her faithful Knowledgeable staff

lets use this case as the example...now suppose Park's caddy didn't put Ji's club in the bag but he held it in his hand....would Park still be penalized for having too many clubs

I ask this because if Park is NOT Penalized...then what is to keep someone like Phil that likes to carry extra drivers from having his caddy hold one of them ...and in the event Phil decides to use one of them...he can then just discard one of his other clubs to a fan(?) and then still be in the limit

I know that Park's intent was NOT to use Ji's club....but if holding the club in the hand is not a penalty....then someone with Phil's intent on using the club could circumvent the intention of this too many clubs rule

here is my guess...somewhere in the Rules they probably have a clause about this...probably saying it is OK to HOLD a club in your hand...BUT once you take a swing with it and it makes contact with a golf ball...you are now penalized...and heaven forbid if your caddy gets tired of holding it and put it in the bag for easier carrying

now this brings up ANOTHER question....just suppose it is OK to carry a club and NO Penalty unless you hit a ball with it....suppose a player wants to sneak in the "Practice weighted swing club" to loosen up during waiting breaks in the round...hmmmm....ok folks...forget about this scenerio...these ladies are professionals...they don't need these "swing aids"

But I would like to know the answer about the other parts of this post

ok thanks...have a good day....see ya!!

come to think of it, I seem to remember that a nickname of her's is "the rat". I do believe I heard that on a tournament telecast.

Wiefan, since you're into trivial matters, here's one for you. It's a fact that when a woman wears a leather dress, a man's heart beats faster. After years of research, they found the reason to be that she smells like a new gold bag.
