golf superstitions

What are some of your golf superstitions?
I think it would be fun to hear the variety of superstitions that people use.
For example, do you only use one type of coin to mark your ball, only use
one "number" of golf ball, have to wear your "lucky" shirt, etc.
Or do you just throw caution to the wind, tee it up, and let your fate fall where it may.

My superstition...In my golf bag, I keep the golf ball from my only hole-in-one in a zip lock bag.
So every time I reach in for a new ball, I think of "Happy Thoughts".

I just saw the same question, word for word, posted on GolfWeek's forum:

If I am shooting a real good round I don't like to change the ball.

Lots of my pals will change on the back nine. ?????
Some times we lose one with no forward caddy.
Hitting balls with irons will after several hits makes them a little rough.

In the "For what it's worth" department.......I remember reading a story, many moons ago, wherein Jack Nicklaus was asked if he used a new ball every hole. He said that he started with three balls marked 1, 2, and 3. He used #1 on the first hole, then 2 on the second and three on the third....and started the rotation over on the fourth. He said that gives each ball a chance to recover(???), I think he said compression.
It's probably thirty years since I read that, and with the advancement in golf ball technology it probably isn't significent any more....
Over the years I've gathered a lot of balls marked 1 and 2.....the third hole at my club is where the pond was....'nuff said?

I don't have any superstitions. I only use Bridgestone golf balls, but that's because they have the best feel for me.

Sharma, welcome to the site.

Looks like an old thread. When I had seen the title my immediate reaction was never play a number 0 ball. Glad to see thats what I wrote the first time.

Never use colored tees. Only natural wood tees.
