Viva Annika
I backed up Wiefan as well.

Buzzer, you may be correct about Cristie's caddy being defiant. Surely the camera operators have asked him to move out of view but he doesn't.
Interesting isn't it.

That is interesting. You'd think, though, that if he's violating the rules someone would call him on it. It may end up costing her eventually. I suppose, as Wiefan said, it depends on one's interpretation of the word "Close."

Kerr's caddy, John Killeen, is a veteran who was on Meg Mallon's bag for years and also worked for Christina Kim (among others) and on the PGA Tour. I'm confident he knows what he is doing with regard to the rules. I would not read too much into anything just by having his hands on their hips. As I said earlier distances are distorted by TV cameras. Also, camera operators never talk to the caddies or golfers and ask them to move. The camera operator moves if the view is obstructed.

Most likely, he's just in the line of view of the camera, or was the week at Kingsmill. That's too bad for the TV viewers, but not his fault. And he likes to stand with his hands on his hips. So what.

Blue,

Buzzer, Wiefan and I saw what was going on with him, perhaps now that we have mentioned it, you will notice what we are talking about next time Cristie hits a shot or two on TV.

I disagree with the above statement. I've seen them in person and in TV...when the caddy is blocking the view, the camera man/woman motion him to move and he/she just get out of the way. Especially when the camera is attached to a tripod.

Hi ya folks...in defense of Cristie's caddy....when the camera shows him lining up Cristie...you get to see Both him and Cristie....thus the camera is NOT directly in the back of Cristie....it is a little on the side, thus you get to see both caddy and Player....when Cristie's caddy moves to the side...he goes on the camera side.....so seeing him in the picture could mean that he is on the "SIDE-SIDE " of Cristie...what ever that means

if the camera is one shoulder's width to Cristie's right...and the Caddy ends up on the right side of the viewing screen...then perhaps you will get what I am Talking about

but regardless....he is the only one to flirt with this "Closeness" of the rule

have a good day folks

THANK GOD that Buzzer and Gxer also saw what I saw....folks, for a minute there, I was thinking that "I LOST IT MENTALLY"...whew....now that I know I am Mentally SANE.....listen to this....GO WIESY GO!!!....have a good day folks...see ya!!

I am sure if it were WIESY"S caddy all hell would break loose and this would go on forever.

Kind of refreshing to be arguing about someone else. And also to have someone other than Wiefan make the requisite introduction of Wiesy's name into every thread. You get the prize! (just kidding).

I've never seen that but I haven't seen everything.

I might be incorrect but in researching this issue I came across an article which stated the spirit of the "closeness" rule came about because there had been complaints from the television networks about caddies blocking the view of the line of play.
