IMO, what is supposed to be serious competition in a women's major on the LPGA tour is being degraded, at times, into silliness by TGC and CK.
What are they thinking?
I have to agree. It detracts from the atmosphere of a major. Can anyone imagine CBS putting a mic on Boo Weekley at the PGA Championship?

Not the stupidest thing ever. Thanks to Ms. Bivens, we've had worse.

However, as much as I live CK, this was: a) annoying b) pointless c) juvenille (yes I know she's only 25 or something ... and Wie to whom she was talking was even younger). She's a ham and loves an audience. The problem with this is that the audience can't leave or they miss the entire golf tournament.

I felt like "I'm a golf fan and I'm stuck listening to Christina Kim on mic. Get me out of here!"

Also the pervasive Twitter references from Ms. Kim and the GC announcers was enough already. I use Twitter. I use it a lot. It's one of those things that are best when you just do it, not talk about it. I see an opening for a dangerbob joke here.

The other thing that bugs me is this putting tracking thing. OK show me the track before hand or after but NOT DURING THE PUTT SO THAT I CAN NOT SEE THE BALL.

Who was that Australian(?) guy doing the commentary. He seemed good (or was it just the accent or just being more alive then Beth Daniel.)

I won't be seeing the broadcast again until Sunday, hoping at least the HD looks good.

Anyway I gotta get out on the highway before rush hour starts and the shore traffice starts. 3 hrs driving ahead of me.

Yeah...just like sex. It's better when you just do it and not even talk about it! At least that's what I do unlike the Marine who's all talk.

Now,that is annoying.

I also hate whenever ESPN cover golf and they have a constant need to fill the screen with information.

Usually,horrible,scrolling graphical information,too...

I'm in agreement with the mic being over-used. It was totally obnoxious and clearly a sign of desperation. It degraded the event to being like a Skins exhibition. None of what Christina said was a shock but did she ham it up more for the tv audience? I held back on this topic because I am a Christina fan but as long as someone else cracked the door let's bang it down.

DB, unlike you, when I have sex, there's another person in the room.

I agree that Christina was hamming it up and rather annoying, but with Beth Daniel on the broadcast team, we needed something to keep us awake.

xman.... The new guy is not an Aussie, he's English... Tom Abbott. He's ok, though right off the bat yesterday he misidentified Karrrie Webb as Kristy McPherson. Karrie Webb! As you pointed out, anyone sounds good next to the monotone Beth Daniel (and Donna Caponi's not real lively either).

I, too, thought Xtina hammed it up a bit too much yesterday with the mic. It was quite silly sometimes. Plus, when they first started the broadcast and showing her, the announcers wouldn't shut up so you couldn't hear what she was saying. Duh.

It was a bit distracting and probably shouldn't have been done at a major. Though in order for it to be successful -- IF you're going to use it -- it has to be used with someone like CKim or all you get is ...nothing.

I also HATE that putting line thing!! Must've been Bivens' idea. No wait...she doesn't know anything about golf, so scratch that.

While we're complaining.....I thought I heard they were going to do these "at the turn" mini interviews over the w/end. Please....no....don't. We won't hear anything interesting unless someone says "Get that freakin' mic outta my face, a$$hole!!"

Here's what we'll hear....

I'm going to focus on one shot at a time and see what happens.

I'm going to have fun and try to make some birdies.

I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing.

Yadda....yadda...yadda

Huh? You like someone watching you? The Marine in action...better than listening to the wired Christina Kim!

No, DB. I actually have a woman with me, unlike you.
