Grace's Caddie

Does anyone know if Brian Funk is still Grace's caddie? If so, I'm not sure how much longer he can hold out with her. I mean, considering she is not making any cuts anymore, he is carrying her bag for what is probably bare bones minimum pay. How long can he continue to work for peanuts?

As for Grace, I am growing increasingly fearful that she will complete the required minimum number of 15 tournaments and then just go home to Korea for the year. That's a pattern that I wish she would break and hope she breaks.

One of the definitions of insanity is continuing to do the same thing and expecting different results.

If she does give up on the year and go home, my advice is to stay there for a year or two. Play on the KLPGA tour and try to regain her form. Then maybe come back and try to qualify for the LPGA again. Frankly, if she had to qualify today, I'm not sure she would be able to. One thing is certain, she has to get her thoughts together and get her head in the right place.

I have mentioned before that I am 50 years old. And I have been a sports fan for more than 40 years. I have never seen this big a gap between an athlete's talent and that athlete's results.

What do you think is wrong with her? I used to love watching her play. It is very sad to see her results week after week. Maybe she should leave the LPGA to get it together.

Thanks Cougar. I have seen Brian work with Grace for a couple of rounds shortly after he became her caddie. I liked what I saw and think they would be a good team if Grace can ever get her game back to form.

Hopefully he is independently wealthy.

I would like to emphasize that I don't want Grace to call it quits on this year once she reaches the required 15 tournaments, but if that is what she decides to do, it will be an indication that she is not ready right now to devote herself to the preparation needed to compete at the LPGA level. Whew!! That was a long sentence, but I think it made sense.

I will say that my thoughts on this are evolving and I think we (maybe just me) might be being too hard on Grace. I have more thoughts to share, but I will start a new thread later.
