Grace Park....Which One?

I am still following this lovely lady. Yesterday for the first time in a long time she shot a bogey free round, tied for 9th at the end of the round at 4 under. Excellent round.......looked sharp. Today she gave it all back and nearly missed the cut......birdied #18 to make the cut at 1 over for the tournament. The scoring was there again today like it was yesterday and this incredible free fall happened. It was like this was a whole different person out there today from yesterday. Completely head scratching.........when will the real Grace show up for a whole tournament?

Golf is a funny game. Look at Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Phil had a good day yesterday but struggling today. Tiger struggled yesterday, but had a good day today.

I fluctuate somewhat as well from week to week. Some days most things click. Other days I putt well only, and then some days nothing works well. When things are going well it seems easy like good play is grooved. But when things are bad (like now) I feel awkward even swinging the club.

Thumbs up

As my pro once told me: "Golf is three games....woods, irons and putting. To play all three games well on one day is a difficult thing to do....even for the pros."
Sounded right then, and sounds right today, eh?

Grace Park has already 4 birdies in the first 6 holes with no bogeys. Maybe the real Grace Park is showing up!

That's as good a description of this game as I've heard. Every once in a while, they come together, and you tell yourself you have it figured out. Then, reality bites you in the ass, and every tree, bunker or pond in the tri- state area jumps in front of every shot you hit. And, strangely, we come back for more.

In Grace's case, I wonder how much her back problems have led to her inconsistency. It's hard to not be a fan, because when she's on, she's so damned good. I hope she can get her game back on a consistant basis.

Poor Grace....she blew up on the back side with five bogies. I wonder if her back was hurting her after such a nice front side. At least we know that she hasn't forgotten how to play. Perhaps she's getting it together now.....might just need a few more tournaments to get rid of the bogies.
