2009 ~ The Gracious Free Ride

Grace and her fans have a huge opportunity in 2009.... Riding on a wave of zero expectations, Grace has an opportunity to surprize to the upside !!

I think she will do it .... and I will be there cheering for her ... as I have for the past many years..

She finished way down on the money list. Is she using an injury exemption or something to keep membership for 2009?

She has the final year of her 5-year exemption for winning the 2004 Kraft Nabisco.

Under the new eligibility and priority standards being introduced in 2009 Grace's major title from 2004 would make her a Category 3 for the start of the season. That will get her into the field just behind the top 80 on the 2008 money list (Category 1) and the handful of players who will be in Categories 1a and 2. Of course, as a past champion of the Kraft Nabisco she has a career exemption into that particular event. It would behoove Grace to be within the top 80 on the money list in 2009 because Category 3 only covers major winners from the preceding 5 years.

Well here we Grace fans are once again hoping 2009 arrives with all in good health and spirits.........especially Grace. I'm not so sure toher back is the only thing ailing her, but if it has been bothering her again, I hope she gets the rest and treatment to be pain free. I would like very much to see her begin to become relevant again on the LPGA tour, but also understand she just may not have it any more. I hope I'm wrong...........she'll have to show me improvement in her game....mental and physical.........We shall see.............but hoping for the best for her in 2009.
