Se Ri Pak Performance?

Let me throw this out there...it has been well documented that SeRi's father had a heavy hand, and this made SeRi an unhappy golfer; sleeping in cemeteries etc...but she was a GREAT golfer back then. Now that she's a happy person, she's middle of the pack (minus her great performance at McD couple years ago). Perhaps the much maligned Korean fathers are on to something.

So what would you prefer?
1) Unhappy person + Great golfer; or
2) Very happy + Bad golfer

I think I'd rather be the most miserable bastard that has 100 major wins!!

Very happy + bad golf. If those are my only choices.

You know the saying, the worse day on the course is the better than the best day at work. Happy + good golfer would be my actual wish.

I had not heard about Se Ri's issues.

I just wonder how many people, knowing they had a special talent, would make some hard sacrifices.....

Most of us mortals must be content with hopefully happy + mediocre amature handicapped golf. But if I had SeRi's talent, I might have to suck it up deal with evil pops. You wouldn't believe how big she was in Korea during her heyday - it puts tiger's fame to shame!

SeRi is the pioneer of Korean players. It's been observed by many that the Koreans work much harder than players from other countries, maybe even are driven too hard by their parents in particular. Is it possible that the result is a career cut shorter by burn-out and injuries? It's not just SeRi but what happened to Mi Hyun Kim (yes she got married, but there are many succesful married players), Shi Hyun Ahn, Hee Won Han (married and baby, but again, no excuse, at least not the married part). Are there any Koreans who have not dropped off the radar after their late 20s?

It just tells you that in golf, experience doesn't count much. It's mental as well as physical game and some are talented and some are just pure lucky! (the last part through the courtesy of Paddyman! )

Happy and bad golf is a much better choice. Life's to short to go through miserable.

Hi ya 4putt.....I think Rusty probably felt that your original thread title had a negative connotation when first reading it...I think this has to do with his policy of being "respectable of the player"....just my guess....in my opinion, I think Rusty is correct

your post was just explaining about what Seri had to go through to get to where she is and where she is now....nothing wrong with this for discussion purposes....but the thread title wouldn't make anyone think so if Only reading the title....just my opinion

have a good day 4 putt....see ya!!
