Especially when it's a small forum and can easily be controlled by the mods if something gets out of hand. I'd hate to see people frightened to post any more. Maybe it's just me - but I've enjoyed reading all of Saint's posts and your replies.
On the subject of Christina - there's a fine line each one of us has from thinking she's a breath of fresh air to thinking of her as really annoying. For me - she crossed that line - not intentionally and her heart's in the right place - but to me I started liking her reactions at the beginning of the Solheim and after a while it just seemed more and more OTT and childish and she just became annoying. For others she didn't and to those - she's still great the way she shows her emotions -simple as that. But you just can't be neutral with her. I dunno if she ever upset her opponent. But unlike Dottie Pepper incidents - I don't see anyone complaining. There's lots of additional things that determine for each of us what trips over that thin line. Were we there? Are we USA or Euro? And there's also got to be a difference between how we'd expect the players to react in a Solheim Cup match and a regular LPGA match. I also think it's pretty natural and healthy that those girls when asked who their fav was all said either Michelle or Kim. And that's not something that I would ever dream of being concerned about or thinking anything was wrong if I was their head. At present - I'm sure the LPGA line is she's great for the game and I cannot imagine anyone saying anything to her in an official capacity unless there were some official complaint that was investigated and upheld. Lastly - they said on Sky TV that she actually apologised for her behaviour on Saturday twice. I think it was for her behaviour in the foursomes though when things weren't going so well for her and she became a bit petulant. Anyone know? |

. Why not have a separate folder called "I want to bash somebody/something today", so these things can really shine on their own, and not interfere with the other folders/threads/topics. Then everyone can be happy. :-) {Be not sure of what matters and what does not. Drops of rain become an ocean.} {Deep is just shallow on end.}

Waldorf, an excellent post. Personally, I feel that if a poster has a problem with a moderator, they should try to work it out between themselves, rather than publicly. Usually, it's nothing major, and if the posts are public, people are likely to start choosing sides. A minor issue could become personal fairly easily if that happens. All of us are human, and we're bound to disagree on occasion. There's nothing wrong with that. Some issues are better settled, in my opinion, privately. I hope that explains my inviting Saint to PM me if we have a similar issue in the future.

Look all i am trying to say is her antics went far too far she showed no respect for the game and other players. IF i was her apponent i would not have been happy do you think the best players in the world would have liked playing against her when she clearly showed no respect. I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS SHE WAS WELL OUT OF ORDER NO PLACE FOR IT INTHE GAME OR ON THE GOLF COURSE.

Hally, I don't think anyone disagrees that Christina is over the top on occasion. Is that any worse than players drop the "F Bomb" on a regular basis? Was her behavior less acceptable than Boo Weekly's at the Ryder Cup?

This is where MarinePaul and I apparently disagree, though it looks like he's modified his view a bit. Moderators applying the rules of the board is an art not a science. We don't always agree but we do our best. |

I follow her on twitter and saw most of the comments made. I dunno, how do you rein in someone's personality? Perhaps she did go a little overboard at times, but that's who she is, and given the venue where the crowds are hysterical, how can the players not be? Oh yes, I know, a lot of the players just plodded along, smiled occassionally and were perfect little ladies, but in her own way Christina adds something to the whole atmosphere of the Solheim Cup. Hally, you are obviously a stickler for the "gentleman's game", but a lot of things have changed over time - spitting on the greens, swearing a blue streak when you hit a bad shot, throwing things, kicking the bag, etc., and while I'm not saying that's preferred behavior, it's accepted now. Christina annoyed me at times during the Solheim, but I just shrugged it off and reminded myself that "that's Christina" - nothing wrong with being yourself. Hally - have you ever been to a Solheim Cup?
