Their Cups Runneth Over

The LET played their Ladies British Masters this week at Buckinghamshire Golf Club, and here are the four Cups on display in the clubhouse representing the competitions between the US and Europe/Great Britain & Ireland. This is the first time in history that all 4 cups have been held by Europe/GB&I.

By the way, Lydia Hall from Wales won the Ladies Masters in largely Asian free field. There were some teenage Asians who missed the cut, including Xin Ying Wang, a 13 year old from China.

From the left... The Walker Cup, Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup and Curtis Cup.

Go USA Go.....NOT!!!!

I see LD is playing the LET this week...but coming to Vancouver next week.
We gotta give LD a lot of credit....plays Toledo then flies to the UK to play the British Masters then a 10+ hr flight to Vanc.

She been playing for well over 25 yrs and no whining like some of the younger prima donnas.
I really wish she can get into the HOF based on points...but gotta believe she'll be voted in....not the way LD wants to enter.

LD started out tied for the lead after her first round 66. But she faltered in the next 2 rnds with 77-79. Ouch.

And, literally OUCH. She messed about at the Evian playing in that caddie/player soccer match and hurt her ankle. She's getting way too old (48 I think) to take those sorts of chances with her already beat up joints. It's her own fault.

I agree...she would rather make the HOF on points than be voted in. I think she made a statement to that effect.

Was a little worried when I saw she was playing the LET this week - always fun to watch Laura, glad she's coming back to Canada.

On another note.....

LD will love Vanc. There is a race track there and I hope the meet is in season. Next to golf her fun is gambling.

I hope the pros stay downtown...more action....hoteling out in the suburbs is too boring.

Yes, Hastings Race Track is only a max 10 min from downtown and 15 min from the course in no traffic. HRT is located next to the Pacific National Exhibition fair that just opened today for 3 weeks.
HRT is also a home away from home for the Mexican jockey who rode the winner of the Derby & Preakness this yr.

There are plenty of casinos (another fav pastime of LD's) in Coquitlam, Burnaby & Vancouver.

Juli is not playing next week....so I think LD is the only pro who returns from the 1990 event.
Yani won on this track in 2007 in a Cdn tour event.

Cool pictures of all the trophies.

I'm a bit concerned there might only be three on display after next month's festivities at Medinah have concluded,though...

Yes, definitely a worry for the Euros...but we'll see.

Why is there a NZ flag smilie on here and no Euro smilie?

Speaking of which, I just noticed there are Japanese flags in your signature. Huh?

The American men's game is in better shape than it was in 2010,add that to the home field advantage and I'd give them a slight edge.

It should be very close.

The NZ flag smilie is in anticipation of the coming domination of women's golf by Lydia Ko.

If you click on the Japanese flags, they reveal pictures of golfers.

Japanese ones,obviously...
