I see LD is playing the LET this week...but coming to Vancouver next week.
We gotta give LD a lot of credit....plays Toledo then flies to the UK to play the British Masters then a 10+ hr flight to Vanc.

She been playing for well over 25 yrs and no whining like some of the younger prima donnas.
I really wish she can get into the HOF based on points...but gotta believe she'll be voted in....not the way LD wants to enter.
Davies belongs in the HOF and will get there. But, I agree any player would prefer to get the points rather than go in by vote.. Hope she gets there on her own. If she slimmed down alot, she'd have a better chance. But, if she hasn't done that by now, it's never gonna happen.

Really? She wasn't exactly skinny-minny when she won 25 LPGA tournaments and finished in the top ten 128 times! I don't think weight has anything to do with it. She still plays a good game, but keep in mind, she's not into practicing and she's quite into "extracurricular" activities. Also, she ain't getting any younger!

Ya....LD's problem is not her weight....it's her desire and commitment to practice and course mgmt.
LD has always been ALL OR NOTHING on the course.

I've always thought Bam Bam has the most natural talent.
Bam Bam can make money and some times contends with maybe 70% commitment.

People who excel at the highest level put in 70+ hrs and work 49 weeks in the yr in their jobs.....any one think Bam Bam is attached to her sticks that long.

Bam Bam's happiest with a rod in her hand or pillow on her head.....a pretty nice life and good for her.

No, she was never scrawny like Anna Rawson... But she was a lot younger packing around all that extra weight. It wears on you, and when you get older, it's so much more difficult to deal with. And, yes, you're right, she likes to enjoy life... If she lost 50 pounds, I think she'd do much better. Heck, if she had lost 50 pounds when she was younger, I think she'd have significantly increased her win totals.

Fans and the players don't all have the same goals for the players. Sure, there are some who live or die for the game. But, others are happy to make a real nice living without sacrificing their lives for the sake of golf. Lincicome is one of them, I think we agree. Davies is another.

And, my friend, I surely disagree with you about Davies and her weight... Unless you've ever been really heavy, you have no idea what it's like to carry it around with you all the time, and how it tires you out... especially on those hot, sultry summer days... Vince Lombardi had lots of famous sayings, but the one I think of the most is "Fatigue makes cowards of us all." I don't think he meant "coward" in the sense most think of it, but he meant that when fatigue sets in, it's not terribly difficult for lots of folks to come down a notch or two.

Maybe losing 50 wouldn't help her game, that's always a possibility, but it would sure help her health...

Davies plays many sports - not just golf - one of her favorites to play is soccer. Would appear to me that soccer would wear on you more than being on a golf course. Yes, she's a big girl, but she's not all flab!
