So here are the pairings...front loaded...I like it...get the lead quickly and put the pressure on...do these pairings change anybody's minds on the final outcome?

M19: Helen Alfredsson vs. Michelle Wie

M20: Laura Davies vs. Brittany Lang

M21: Gwladys Nocera vs. Juli Inkster

M22: Catriona Matthew vs. Kristy McPherson

M23: Sophie Gustafson vs. Brittany Lincicome

M24: Diana Luna vs. Nicole Castrale

M25: Tania Elosegui vs. Christina Kim

M26: Maria Hjorth vs. Cristie Kerr

Just some quick thoughts -

Angela may have her hands full with Becky
All of the battling long hitters will be fun to watch
Let's see how Juli and CK rebound

Our thinking is that even though the US has a good record in singles, the win is still up for grabs.

Ok, my quick predictions. No halves allowed.

Creamer vs. Pettersen: Petterson, Europe 9-8
I just think Pettersen is due a great round

Stanford vs. Brewerton: Stanford, AS 9-9
Brewerton beat Stanford as part of fourball Friday...Stanford gets payback

Wie vs. Alfredsson: Wie, USA 10-9
All the experience goes to Alfredsson, but all the momentum goes to Wie, including a 5 & 4 drubbing on Saturday morning

Davies vs. Lang: Lang, USA 11-9
Davies last hurrah ends with a Solheim loss

Inkster vs. Nocera: Nocera, USA 11-10
I love Juli, but her last hurrah also ends with a loss

McPherson vs. Matthew: Matthew, AS 11-11
Matthew is still flying high from the British and finds a way to beat the underrated McPherson

Lincicome vs. Gustafson: Lincicome, USA 12-11
Talk about bombs bursting in air...Lincicome gets her biggest win since Kraft

Castrale vs. Luna: Luna, AS 12-12
Castrale seems a bit shaky at the moment

Kim vs. Elosegui: Kim, USA 13-12
Christina wills her way to a win

Kerr vs. Hjorth: Kerr, USA 14-12
Kerr guarantees the cup stays in the USA

Pressel vs. Nordvist: Pressel, USA 15-12
This one I might have made AS except for my rule to pick a winner, but Morgan has been a match play ace since her amateur days

Gulbis vs. Moodie: Moodie, USA 15-13
Moodie wins for pride but the USA's Cup runneth over!

My first reaction is that I would be a little nervous with Nat versus the experience of Moodie if the Cup depended upon it but an intriging matchup, and perhaps decisive, is Morgan vs. Nordqvist, wow! I'm also fascinated by the potential experience factor of Alfredsson vs. Wie. Clearly, Wie holds the edge on talent but Helen is quite the mastermind on the course.

BKB - probably come true, though I still hope Laura & Juli have good results.

Although I picked her to lose on Sunday, I definitely share your sentiments about seeing Juli pull one out...that would be a case where I would love to be wrong.

This is gonna be so close. I see it panning out 6-6 in the pairings, maybe 7-5, either way. I think the Gulbis/Moodie match could make all the difference.

That is what I mean about getting old. I am meaning Meg Mallon, but thinking Pat Hurst. Thanks Put, I think I should give up on names entirely, and just say the one who did not do so well. Ah well, error 1288877.503 just another nail in the coffin. Ah that coffin is so close I can feel the varnish on the wood.... scratch Meg Mallon.... think Laura Davies who is playing.... I think I well stop posting for a longer while, just makeing a mess of things. Cya's.

Could very well come down to that match...Natalie is talented, no doubt, but I wonder about Beth making her the anchor leg...I guess in the end everybody has to go out and try to win no matter when they play...but still...
