| Senior Member | Solheim Cup - Day One Surprised me that Pettersen and Gustafson went 0-2. I believe they'd never lost paired together before. Creamer really struggled this morning, but was held in there by Kerr's really great play. I was surprised Daniel sat Kerr for the foursomes this afternoon. Juli struggled badly with her putting. Hit some quality iron shots, but generally was not playing well. Catriona Matthew showed her mettle as she did at the WBO. She's got nerves of steel. Morgan....off day....I predict she'll come out well tomorrow. Wie too, having gotten that first Solheim round under her belt. She played really well. LD....what can I say? She may brag that she doesn't practice, etc....and it shows. I think her Solheim days are done. Becky Brewerton did her best playing against two US players by herself for most of the match. Creamer struggled same as Morgan with length issues. This course is playing really long for shorter hitters. Maybe they won't get any rain tonight, making it longer. Brittany Lincicome was fabulous in the morning matches. Anyone hear her drop the "F" bomb in the afternoon matches when she hit a ball in the water on #7? Two f'bombs really...the first was "freakin'"...the second was the real deal. Alfie....fabulous competitor in Solheim. I jumped off the chair when she made that birdie on #18 to seal the point for the Euros. Cristie Kerr.....if she doesn't make the most points this Cup, I'd be surprised. As I said....can't believe Daniel sat her this afternoon. Well, a bit more golf to go. Let's see who steps up to the plate and comes out a hero! |

So far Kim and Nat seem to be having the most fun. I love to see that.

Nice post, Lojo......can't add much to that. It was a long morning and the afternoon started late for us fans. I missed Brittany L's adjectives, but I did hear Cristie's "gawdammit" loud and clear. Adds a little spice, I guess. All in all, a pretty good day of golf for both sides. The predicted runaway became unpredictable, I guess. Viva Annika |

A really great day for golf fans. I have to admit I'm surprised by how well Europe is doing, and I still see the US team winning by a fairly good margin, but that's the beauty of match play. Great analysis of the day's rounds, Lojo.

Have to agree with everything LoJo mentioned, (well, I don't HAVE to, but I will! ) Very tough day on us fans, watched the morning matches, then when the men's tourney came on I had to go ALL the way downstairs to the computer to watch at 2pm when they started streaming the afternoon matches, then ALL the way back upstairs again when it came on TV again! Phew, I'm exhausted!I am and always have been a Davies fan, but she stunk out the joint today and I got the impression just from watching her that she was just there for "fun" and didn't really care - I'm sure she does, but it sure didn't show. Glad it wasn't a U.S. runaway on day one like many "experts" predicted. Should be a good weekend if it stays close like this.

This is a tough event to watch after work, so many hours to catch up on. It's a good problem to have though. Wish we could have this issue more often. Sadly though I didn't get to see any of the morning matches finish as my DVR cut off at 1, and the coverage went over. Good to see Wie and Pressel get a halve after being behind all day, and great to see the Brittany's get a big win. Catching up on the afternoon matches now. |

Enjoy it over the w/end. Btw...one of the Rolex ads has a great 'memory' of Carin winning for the Euros in Sweden. You'll like it. |

My opinion of the matches? I wasn't aware anybody but Michelle played today... ...just kidding... ...if anything surprised me it was Stanford and Inkster losing in the morning...and Angela going 0 for 2...she is due for a good day...she'll pick up some points on Saturday and Sunday for sure...she's too good not to... ...still anybody's tournament...gotta keep it up, Team USA!! a few pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
