Updated European standings

LET Solheim Points
1 Nocera
2 Hull
3 Pettersen
4 Ciganda

Rolex Points
5 Nordqvist
6 Munoz
7 Gal
8 Matthew

Melissa Reid has a chance to catch up with Carlota on the LET points standings. If she doesn't, I would imagine she will get a captains pick.

I like the way some of the players on that list are starting to play. The US better watch out. To me the are the favorites. I think that the US team has a long way to shake itself out. I'd like to see some players step it up (Lewis, Wie, Creamer) and see some players (Kerr, Pressel) keep it up this week.

I agree. Obviously my sympathies lie with Europe, but I think this years Solheim will go down to the wire.

It would be great to see Mel Reid back in the Solheim after battling back from the tragedy of her mother's death.

I assume Caroline Hedwall will get a pick,as she is to the Solheim what Poulter is to the Ryder. It will also be fascinating to see whether somebody like Valentine Derrey or Kylie Walker gets a debut pick.

The Yanks look particularly stale.Pressel and Kerr are playing fairly decent golf, but a lot of the potential team aren't lighting any fires out there. Stacy Lewis seems to hate playing in the Solheim ; Lexi is wildly inconsistent ; Creamer looks finished ; Stanford only plays well in Texas (slight exaggeration) and is another who doesn't seem to enjoy the Solheim experience ;Korda and the Entitled Princess look like shit ;Salas has been anonymous.

Alison Lee has to get a captain's pick,as she is having a decent rookie season, nobody else is making a great case for a pick.

It should be a nice, comfortable stroll to victory for us...

With two tournaments remaining before the US Solheim Cup team is announced, Stacy Lewis, Lexi Thompson, Michelle Wie, Cristie Kerr, Brittany Lincicome, and Morgan Pressel are a lock. Angela Stanford and Gerina Piller will likely take the last two Solheim points spots. Paula Creamer and Lizette Salas would make the team based on Rolex ranking.

That would leave Brittany Lang, Jessica Korda, Austin Ernst, and Mo Martin as possible 11th and 12th members of the US team. Lang is currently tied for 10th with Creamer in Solheim points and 12th in Rolex; Korda is 12th in Solheim points and 10th in Rolex; Ernst is 13th in Solheim points and 15th in Rolex; and Martin is 14th in Solheim points and Rolex ranking.

If Inkster wants to pick the two players that have performed best this year, Lang (6th in 2015 Solheim points) and Alison Lee (10th in 2015 Solheim points) would be her best choices. Juli stated recently that she would like to include a "rookie" who could go 36 holes in one day - that would make Alison a good choice.

An aside on the European team. Melissa Reid's play in the BWO probably earned her a captain's pick.

It should be a walk in the park for the good guys.

I just hope we don't get too complacent...

If I were Juli, I'd go with Ernst and Lee. The team desperately needs some youth. Lee's collegiate and Curtis Cup success could translate well to the Solheim Cup.

And, yes, it would take a calamity for Carin Koch not to pick Mel Reid.
