Do Solheim captains get paid for their work or is it a volunteer job?

Why would anyone even think of giving Meg Mallon another shot at it ?

She was a disaster.

From one of her captain's picks to some of her odd pairings, she did a terrible job.

For the first time in Solheim history, the Americans were beaten (and not just beaten, but mauled) on their own soil ; yet,Mallon should get a second opportunity ?

Juli Inkster would be a decent shout. She has a familiarity with all the players because she's played with them all.

As for the victorious Europeans. If Liselotte Neumann made herself available,I'd end the selection procedure right there. But,if she is a 'one and done',I'd be happy with Carin Koch at the helm.

Laura Davies,as stated, doesn't see herself as a captain, but if it was ever held in England,I think she might be amenable to it.

As the next iteration is in Germany perhaps Tina Fischer could have a vice-captain's job...

I doubt Mallon would want the job again, and I'm not sure Lotte would either.

Annika is believed to want to Captain when it's held in the US, probably when her children are a little older and the travel issues would be much easier. I think she'd be considered for 2017.

So, I'm gonna go with Carin Koch for the Euro team.

Gotta be Dottie for the US Team. She'll whip those chokin' freakin' dogs into shape!

good one LoJo! Dottie should have saved that comment for this Solheim.

On a related note....

The committee searching for the 2017 Solheim venue is considering the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. It's among 3 finalist courses, but I don't know who the others are.

OH PUHLLLLLEEEEEZE MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

If Juli Inkster is picked as US Captain, they might as well give the trophy to Europe right now.

Interesting. What are the chances of them actually holding it in Florida?!

Well, since there are 3 finalists, their chances are pretty good.

As far as proximity to many LPGA players' homes (both US and Euro), it's excellent. Great area and beautiful tough course.

The only drawback I'd be thinking of if I were making that decision.....HOT, HOT, HOT in Florida in Aug/Sept. And also, the main peak of Hurricane season.

And did I mention the heat?

Um...I doubt she's on the roster.

I've always wondered why she was never more involved in the Solheim other than being a rah rah onlooker. I believe she played in just one Solheim way back.

Maybe she was never interested in being Captain
