OFF WEEKENDS ARE BORING!!

Hey all,

I have been watching the Samsung this weekend, great players, but I cannot get into the tournament without Jennifer playing. Next week there is no tournament, then the Korea tournament after that (Oct. 27-30). That is a long way down the road.

I certainly hope Jenny plays in that tournament (Korea). We have to move up the money list to play in the ADT in November. She had two solid weeks in a row, now a 2 week layoff, I wanted to keep rolling while she was hot.

Hi ya MrJRO.....if the Korean Tournament is the 9 Bridges one.....this would be perfect for JRO.....the last time I followed that tournament it was a "No cut" tournament.....I think JRO would do fine there and the Korean fans would love it....snazzy player with snazzy clothes....can't miss....anyway....have a great day....see ya!!

idea for the Sony people

Hi ya everybody....I just thought about an idea for the Sony people....they sponsor a PGA event and hopefully they will eventually sponsor an LPGA one.....but just incase that is not in their plans....here is something for them....I wrote about this on the Old LPGA board....anyway

A made for TV Skins game.....the players would be "King and Queen" Tiger and Annika on one team....." Easy Wiesy" with Michelle and Ernie as a team....."Apple Pie and Chevrolet (Ford)" with Paula and Phil.....

when I thought of this awhile back....it was only these three teams....I would like to add a 4th team to balance out the tee times of foursomes.....I would like to add "The Voices" with Morgan and Hensby.....this fourth group could be changed if someone came up with something better......but the top 3 teams is a MUST....they could play for a charity of their choice and maybe play in the night.....CANNOT be a school night.....I would think any MAJOR TV network would eat this up alive

I think the Battle of Bighorn was super when it first happened.....but now it is sort of fizzling out...I think something like this would work.....the hardest thing is to get the players to come....but with enough Money at stake and also going to a good cause....they might adjust their schedules somewhat....who knows....maybe a joint partnership with IMG....since most of these players are in their stable

ahh anyway....this was just a thought.....this is what happens when MW is resting from golf....you start getting all kinds of ideas to get her to tee it up again.....anyway.....what do you think....will it work or not....good idea or bad.....any different teams with "Catchy labels"......another possible team is "the grinders" with Cristie and Vijay.....or maybe even the "Korean Connection" with Grace and KJ Choi.....or even the "British Invasion" with Laura and Monte.....anyway....have a great week everyone

Hmmm.... This is probably before "your time" watching golf, Wiefan, but there used to be a mixed team event called the JC Penney Classic. It was an 'end of season' event held in Florida and went on for many years. I believe the last one was around 2000 or so.

It would be a great time for some company/corporation to step up and sponsor such a mixed PGA/LPGA such as this. The format was two person teams....one LPGA/one PGA pro....one or two days fourball (better ball of twosome) and another round or two of foursomes (alternate shot). Maybe it was just a two day event...I don't recall.

There were some great teams....

Laura Davies/John Daly...the big bombers (and they won the last one I think)
Kane/Wier....the Canucks
Pepper/Sluman....Fire and Ice
Love/Daniel....the North Carolina connection
Annika/Jesper....one normal Swede and one weird Swede

Anyhow, it was great fun and I really think the time is ripe for this sort of event to be revived. It could be a silly season event and maybe just a two day exhibition for charity, etc. I'd love to see a mixed event which included more than just the "big ones" like Tiger, Annika, Wie, Lefty, etc. I think the fans would eat it up now with the new young 'uns on the LPGA.

Hey wiefan, that sounds like a great idea. Why don't you go and pitch it to the powers that be for '07 or '08. It would probably take that long to get everything setup.

Hmmmm..... a new version of Uncle Tom Moffatt.

Hi ya everyone.....god!! why didn't I think about Laura and John....this is a PERFECT team....both players with the exact mentality....hopefully something like the JC penny will revive itself....it can ONLY help both tours and the charities to boot.....I can think of these possible pairings

Karrie and Campbell....the "Down Under thunder".....
M H Kim and Fred Funk "The Short Society".....
Retief and Catriona...."the non-emotional Explosion".....
Christina and Trevino...." Interaction Inc."....
Gloria Park and Freddy couples....."The Nice and easy smoothies".....
Inkster and Pernice...."the Parent Trap".....
Natalie and Baddelly....."The lookers".....
Lorena and Faxon "The Putters".....
Grace and Craig Stadler...."The Explosion Factor"
Meg and Hale Irwin...."The oldies but goodies"

ahh I am about out.....but it could be quite interesting and fun...anyway....all of you have a great day.....see ya!!

We might as well just put it in there, Wiefan - 'If the PGA is serious about its TV ratings, it might spend a little less time trying to figure out how to force Tiger and Phil into the same tournaments, and a little more time figuring out how to get Michelle Wie back on screen."

NOW, that guy knows what he's talking about! Since Ross Berlin, former PGA Marketing Director, is now her manager, maybe he could get her an exemption into the Bob Hope Desert Classic next year. That would mean a guaranteed four-rounds against other PGA pros, without actually having to play against one. She would just post her scores every day, and could even make the cut on Sunday. That would get her back on TV a lot, early in the season!

Hi ya Boola....I don't know if MW would go for just playing as an "outsider".....sort of like reverting back to her Amateur days....I would imagine that she would rather be a "fellow competitor Professional" and play with the same pressures as the touring pro.....this would make her scores become more meaningful for her and US

maybe it is just me....but I am still a little skeptical about Ross Berlin and the William Morris thingy.....I know everyone's hands are slightly tied right now because of MW's High School Committments....but I guess I will have to just wait and see how good this move was for her....I sure hope it is.....anyway...see ya....have a great day
