I think that is a very simple issue.
Wie will not join the lpga and will not be in the ADT championships 2006. No way.

What happens if men begin to compete on the LPGA tour? They will likely begin winning most, if not all of the events. The number of events where women can win will diminish drastically.
If men try to insist on playing on the lpga, all that happens is those men will look very silly.
So don't worry about them winning lpga events, because they won't be playing in them. No rules changes necessary. All is fine as it is.
lpga is for ladies.
pga is for the best.

Then Wie won't become a member at all in my opinion.

That simply wouldn't work. There is no way, they could allow men have 7 sponsors exemptions and women only 4. That just wouldn't be allowed.

I just think you are completely over-reacting. Wie is a phenom. Who else on the lpga could do anything on the pga tour?
There is no co-ordinating of efforts required by the pga and lpga. If women are good enough they should have the right to take the step up. That is not a two way process.
For example, junior players can play in pga tournaments, but that doesn't mean that Tiger Woods can compete in junior events.

The LPGA rule is not in place to prohibit women from just playing in PGA events or in other men's events, but to prohibit them from playing in any other event that conflicts with theirs: JLPGA, LET, some special pay-for-play exhibition set up, etc.. The idea is to keep each event in their organization as well attended by as many of the 144 exempt players as possible to keep the tournament organizers happy, keep the sponsors happy and attract more and more high-paying sponsors, and keep the fans interested and attract more fans. All of this is necessary to keep the LPGA as a business healthy and growing.

There is a fair chance that before Wie joins the LPGA, she will win the LPGA Championship.

It looks a little strange for the LPGA Champion to not be eligible for the LPGA's final event. I think the membership requirement for ADT points is correct, however, I fail to see a good reason for preventing major champions from entering the year end event. Whether Wie or a member of another Tour, having ALL major winners in the ADT should be an LPGA goal.
