Yep, all that free travel. Going here, there and everywhere in a day having to swot up on the function they are going to, shaking hands, being polite, smiling regardless of feeling like crap. Yes, they have bolt holes to escape to, so long as you can put up with papparazi with long lens cameras wanting to catch any photo opp, 'friends' who are all too willing to talk to gossip columnists so they can so you have virtually no private life. Yep, a great life.
Shaking hands with people, being polite, posing for papparzi and giving people a "dog" smile is a job? How does that benefit you and your country?
All I could say is: The so-called Royal families are bunch of parasites. They are glorified welfare recipients.

"The British Royal Family is financed mainly by public money, but there are also a number of private donations as source of income. The British Parliament meets the cost of the Sovereign's official expenditure from public funds. This includes the costs of the upkeep of the various royal residences, staffing, travel and state visits, public engagements, and official entertainment.[1] The Keeper of the Privy Purse is Head of the Privy Purse and Treasurer’s Office and has overall responsibility for the management of the sovereign’s financial affairs."

Fair enough,Hedd,we have a difference of opinion on the worth of a monarchy,so we'll leave it at that.

And,yes,I'd have hated Thatcher as the head of state, but I still feel the position of head of state should be decided through the ballot box.

So,anyhoo,I believe Laura Davies received some sort of award or other...

Laura Davies may be a dame, but that didn't stop the USGA from leaving her off the list of former Champions in the US Women's Open field....

Players - The Official Site of the 2014 U.S. Women's Open Championship Conducted by the USGA (click on Champions)

They also forgot Juli Inkster, Karrie Webb, and Se Ri Pak. Someone forgot to look at page two of the list of previous winners.

They did not forget them...they just listed the most recent active U.S. Open champion players from 2005 to 2014. They omitted Annika Sorenstam(2006) because she isn't an active player.

Edit: Now click it again and different champions are listed. LOL Laura Davis and Seri Pak are now listed. In other words...everytime you click champions...different names appear.

Looks like they fixed it. All the past champions in the field are now included all on one page.

Minor point: They omitted Annika because she's not in the field, not because she's not an active player. The USGA runs the US Women's Open, not the LPGA. Her status on the LPGA means nothing to the USGA.
