The reality is, he's a golfer who cheated on his wife. We've had presidents who have done the same thing, as well as athletes in every sport, with the possible exception of figure skating and a few other girlie sports. The world is still spinning, and the sun is likely to appear in the morning. The world hasn't ended. Very simply, it's no big deal. As far as Sally Jenkins goes, I didn't think it was a "fake" press conference. He made a public statement, whether people agree with it or not. What else people can expect from him, I can't imagine. For some of you, obviously, the only way he'll come across as sincere is to be castrated.

However, right or wrong he made himself a billionaire (or darn close) not from tournament winnings but from selling an image to the public and his sponsors. Thats were the problem is. A lot of those people feel coned. They are the ones that allowed him to have a 250' yatch instead of a 100' yatch. That image is what sold all those Nike clubs, clothes and shoes. And it was the people that got him that money. This is a bigger con job then Bernie Maddoff. ![]() And the sad thing is that he is still trying to sell the smoke screen. |

Therein lies the irony, Xman. People buy into his squeaky clean image, then when he proves to be less than his image, they blame him, rather than their own naivete. The only Nike gear I ever bought were a pair of golf shoes that I happened to like. If I drove a Buick, it wouldn't be because of his endorsement, but because I happened to like it better than a similar model Chevy. People who put others on a pedestal for whatever reason generally end up being disappointed.

![]() ![]() But with all seriousness, I still like you, Saint. I'm just giving you a hard time. I always like English people. When I visit London, they're always nice to me. And I love their accent, especially Simon Cowell!
