. Finally, I got to see the IMAX 3D version of Avatar. Went early today, (a Thursday), for the first 11:45 show, so I thought if I get there inside the theater at 11:25 I well beat any crowds. Wrong. More then half the theater was packed, and I was forced to take a front seat, which I never do. Now I have a giant screen in my face.... oh well, better then nothing. This is my second time seeing 3D, but with IMAX there are differences. (1) Do not sit in the front seats, or some of the 3D gets blurred. (2) They gave us different 3D glasses this time, (and they wanted them back - they gotta e-tagged on them), and the style was much better, and so was the fit over my own glasses, (then the just 3D version I had before, which I still have, and tried here to - I also remodeled the old ones to fit better - two tiny pins did the trick), yet I did not like them as much as the first pair I got. The 3D was fine, but I noticed a lack of overall color, sorta washed out or darker.... which maybe is an effect of the IMAX screen, or the glasses. ( I did try my the old 3D ones, and they were still good, but with with better brightness of color). So I guess not all 3D glasses are the same, not sure if the glass or screens made the differences or both??? (3) On an interview, (I earlier posted), by someone who was going to go back and watch the show numerous times, because he claimed he always saw and noticed new things each time. Well he is right on with that statement. I saw much more then I did the first time.... each screen is packed with plenty of things and action. I really got to notice it when I took my eyes away from the main characters, then wow, there is a whole bloody live world going on out there. Amazing movie. On a 3D TV with 3D DVD, one could watch this over and over, and still not see it all in many sittings. I suppose we are normally used to the main action in most movies, and do not pay attention to the background or settings, so we tend to focus in a foreground way. With 3D movies.... well its not your regular movie anymore.... you can get lost into it. (4) The 3D itself is something else to experience. Your watching the characters act in the forest, and leaves are falling down. A leaf catches your attention, and you look back to the main characters, but now the leaves are falling all around you, in front and to the sides, and suddenly you to are in there, in the forest, and leaves are falling all around what you see. Its then that and you realize your pulled right into the story, as if your were living it to.... that is fantastic. When those who say the 3D movies are the wave of the future.... they are right, the film industry has once again evolved for the mass media, and I like it. But thats just me and my impressions. Some day I wonder where all these high tech advancements well take us, (not arguing a point of good or bad here - just a view of things to come). I wonder.... cell phones are almost growing on us now, probably the next step is temporary or permanent implants of some sort, (to communicate/watch and view world wide in our future). Hummm, one advantage is it would save packing around a camera/radio/phone/TV, and as we are electrically alive, no need for batteries either. Ha.... to tell the truth the future to come for our kids, or their kids, is quite possibly beyond our own present imaginations. A good crystal ball with a bit of pixie dust, just doesn't cut it anymore. Ah.... getting off track now.... anyways, I really just wanted to say to everyone.... the second time was better then the first. I wish I were living on a planet like Pandora, where one can truly appreciate all that life is. If you ever thought that you might like to know what it is like to be as free as a bird.... this movie well get you there for a time. PS: Leaving the treater I see 3 posters all splashed with color, all of them are different scenes for the new movie coming out, Alice In Wonderland, ya.... you guessed it..... in 3D. I gather one day, all movies well be 2D and 3D, and you can just take your choice. :-)

. (1) A video review from a couple of young movie critics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG45yqSG2Ak (2) Yup.... bitten by the Avatar bug. :-) Human Hardware : http://www.rottentomatoes.com/dor/ob..._hardware.html (3) Bitten real hard. Vid from Rotten Tomatoes interview with James. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/dor/ob..._20091218.html (4) This video is a bit different. It is an interview done by 60 Minutes, (but here it is only 12 1/2 minutes long), but was made in November 22 2009, before the movie came out. Its quite good, and gives some of James Cameron's past movie background, and of course the making, and why the making of Avatar. What makes Jim tick. Check it out.... worth a peek. :-) http://www.cbs.com/primetime/60_minu...cdzJdK7NWVoNrf

. A little on what the world thinks of Avatar. This is a 7 min video from China on Avatar, (from CCTV). It is blowing the box office windows out there to, (same in Korea, I have not checked Japan.... but bet it well be the same there also). There are some interesting comments from Chinese directors, and their take on Cameron's movie magic. And one young lady sees the comparison of Avatar, to how Americans treated the Native Indians in the early days of the USA. Also a second video.... this one is just someone with a cell video phone showing the line ups.... wild. :-) (1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYHg1w12VDg (2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyXP8QGLQJs (3) While in Japan promoting Avatar James Cameron had interest in a new book there, and visited one of the survivors of Hiroshima. Possibly a new movie, or documentary from this director in the future. The book is called : 'Last Train From Hiroshima'. http://www.reviewstl.com/james-camer...iroshima-0108/

. This is an add on article to bit on 'Last Train From Hiroshima'. Why? Because it is much longer and much more informative. And with Cameron directing it, you can be sure it well be in 3D. Maybe a movie, maybe a documentary.... if so, it may be the first documentary in 3D. Here I included 2 links. First is this article I was just talking about, the second is brand new, (as in yesterday), article about what the large corps are going.... correction.... are doing about TV 3D. :-) (1) Greg Mitchell: James Cameron Goes Nuclear: From Avatar to Hiroshima (2) http://www.nzherald.co.nz/technology...ectid=10624076 Update : Man was I ever wrong about the above being the first 3D Documentary .... appears these 3D Docs have been around a lot longer then 3D Movies. http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer...outh-australia

. Six video clips of Avatar, the first 3 are reviews of the movie from three different reviewers. The last 3 clips are songs of Avatar, No 4 is a fans creation for the movie, and No 5 & 6 are the Official Song of Avatar called 'I See You', preformed by Leona Lewis. No 5 is her talking about the making of the song and movie, and No 6 is the complete song with no talk. I have now seen 'Avatar' and agree it is an extraordinary movie. The technology behind it is amazing, and there is a good story line which I don't think has been advertised enough. I'm sure GT is right in saying you see more in the movie on second or third viewing. Not sure I want to see it again too soon, it's a big event and you want to digest it. I'm sure it'll be around in the theatres for quite some time.

I am still a Ray Bradbury fan. Some posted Avatar made the Americans to be killers if you are different. Maybe they meant the human race. I believe most people are growing tired of all the violence in movies. I feel the one thing that most people liked about Avatar is the graphics. That was the part I liked the most. The problem with sci-fi movies as I see it for the graphics you will have to put up with violence. Shame.
