Kim Jong-Il Has Died

I look at this with initial trepidation, because I think North Korea will do something provocative as a warning. Any South Korean assets near the border should be on alert. After that, I hope whomever steps in can be negotiated with. I'm not certain it will be Kim Jong-Il's son, Kim Jong-Un. Some even say to a certain degree, the Worker's Party and military have run the country for the most part since Kim Il-Sung's death in 1994. Not that Kim Jong-Il wasn't the leader since then, but not to the degree that his father was. It was more of a shared leadership with Kim Jong-Il as the global figurehead.

I just hope North Korea and South Korea reunite like East and West Germany. It's too small an island country to be divided! I love the Korean people...been there many times!

Let's eat, Grandpa.
