Hurricane Irene

I hope everyone in the path of Irene is safe tonight. Lots of trees down where I am and flooding of rivers and streams. Roads blocked. No power all day. All friends and family safe as far as I know.

Glad your safe.
All we had was some surf, heavy rain and a lttle wind Friday before noon. Later in the day the sun came out; yesterday was 95 and very sunny.
We have not been hit by a hurricane in over 100 years...however...Savannah, 30 miles south of us and Beaufort, 35 miles north of us have both had their share. Go figure.

My daughter is in DC and without electricity since 2 am. Otherwise okay but the power is out to 180K people in DC area. She is anxious to get back to living a more normal life. An earthquake and a hurricane in short order.

Hi ya folks...I also "echo" MarinePaul's sentiments...I hope everyone and their loved ones are OK....wowWIE, that was a MASSIVE HUGE Storm...it covered a lot of territory

I cannot stop thinking about some of the STUPID FOOLISH people that went surfing and other dumb stuff...not too smart in my opinion

anyway....have a good day...see ya!!

That's because she knew you live there in Hilton Head, South Carolina and even though Hurricane Irene is a "killer", she has lots of respect for the elderly especially the former judge!

Good to hear those in the path are okay. I still can't believe those kayakers off Long Island the police had to rescue - they deserve anything thrown at them for putting other's lives in danger. So stupid!

Basically the center of the storm passed over me but had electricity thru the whole storm. Watched the DR Who marathon on BBCA thru the storm. Watched the final round of the Canadian open to the end (well after the storm had passed). Just as I was about to do the scoring for the contest, the power went out at 6PM.

Still out this morning. Crazy.
