Smile Greg Norman's new academy.

Well, well, it looks like Greg is going to be competing with his good friend, Jim McLean, as Greg is establishing his own golf academy.
----------------------------------------------
The Great White Shark visited Myrtle Beach last week, but not to harass tourists in the water. Instead, Greg Norman, known by that nickname on the golf course, was in town to announce he would be building the East Coast Headquarters of Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy at The Barefoot Golf Resort.

The academy will offer a ten-month high school on-site residency program for top high school players looking to obtain scholarships to top college programs. The morning will be spent in classes, which will be coordinated with Low Country Day School, with the afternoon being spent on golf instruction and play.
A high school post-graduate program for players who want to spend another year improving their game before entering college will also be offered. Advanced training for college players and touring professionals will be available as well as traditional teaching for adults and juniors.

Greg Norman Announces New Golf Academy

An excerpt from the post 1 article just for Lojo.
---------------
Norman said giving back brings a sense of satisfaction. He used the example of LPGA and fellow Australian Karrie Webb. As a young player, Webb attended instructional classes presented by the Greg Norman Golf Foundation in Australia.
“I remember her as a young child taking lessons and now she is a world class player and great champion,” Norman said. “It gives you a good feeling to think you may have contributed a little bit to her success.”

Don't you think Norman's going to claim some credit when Lexi starts winning, LexiNuts?
Isn't that scenario covered in the 1st chapter of Shrewd Business Management 101.

I am not Lexinuts, but yes, if Lexi fails it's not his fault, if she succeeds he takes credit and the morons among us will believe him.

Smile

I just this minute saw Tiger leave a putt short on the lip, dead on line.
Obviously Tiger needs a putting lesson and since Greg is starting his Golf Academy perhaps Tiger should sign up for some personalized putting instructions from Greg, who never, in his entire golfing career, ever, left a putt short.

Just a thought.

Of course. Norman only agreed to play with Lexi because it helped his business. He doesn't do anything unless it helps his business. He probably signed a deal with Lexi's family and Jim McLean so he can promote Lexi as his first student. Too bad she missed the cut this week.

Blue,

That's about as likely as Tiger going to see Greg for putting lessons.

Sorry. Let me clarify. Lexi won't join the academy, but she'll endorse it. At least that was goal of the meeting. Everything is business at this level. Greg Norman didn't play a round with Lexi Thompson last week just to be some kind of benevolent mentor or teacher. McLean is all the teacher she needs. There was a business idea behind the meeting. If you're going to start an academy for high school kids, you can't get a better endorsement than the best high school age golfer in the country.

How can Alexis Thompson's endorsement be best for a high school academy when according to you she is academically inferior because she is home schooled?
