IMO....this indicates a lack of confidence to putt the ball 18-24" past the hole to sink the come backer.

It shouldn't take any coach or her caddy to tell her to putt with more authority...she should have figure this out in the latter quarter of 2011.
Great putting is about touch (even avg putting). Either you got it or you don't. It can't be taught, but it can also be lost. It comes from within.

She can learn to be a serviceable putter and let the other parts of her game balance it out (ie hit it long and straight so you can get it closer to the hole).

The long putter is a last refuge when you do not know what to do ( or if you have back problems). So I agree with you that it is a confidence thing. The long putter will help you steady the club and controll your movement better and as you said give her better lag putting results (18-24").

Buzzer, the parents were all too obvious at the Solheim. There on the practice green, within the ropes at practice sessions and following during play. While I would believe there were plenty of team sessions they weren't at, it seemed they were a greater presence than they has been reported at the previous Cup. There seemed to be more 'hangers on' generally around within the ropes on this occasion.

Having watched quite a lot of MW at the Tour Championship, Solheim and the US Open it appears as if she just doesn't 'get' putting right now. A lot of times at the TC she seemed quite mystified by what the ball did or didn't do.

She does spend a load of time on the practice green, but perhaps she needs to bite the bullet and go back to Stockton. When she spent time with him a couple of years ago her confidence seemed much improved. I just wish she'd never changed what wasn't broken.

That seems to be the biggest problem with her. It seems that she changes coaches far too often.

Thats a different matter. Possible she may have confused herself and shot her confidence to the point where she just can't read anything correctly. Thats different then her putting stroke.

However a new year brings new possabilities. Rested and refreshed she may come back with a better stroke.

Liek the say in all team sports, they all start out tied 0-0.
