Ethel Funches 1914 - 2010

.
The passing of an early women golfer, who played when golfing in the USA was a wie bit different then it is today. I never knew there was a separate golf league for blacks back in those days, but I do now. It was call the United Golfers Association, formed in the 1920's, and was for black men and women.

Ethel Funches was one of the first and one of the best in that league, this article has a little on her history. :-)

Every once in a while you read about people you wish you had met. Ethel Funches is one of those people.
