Anna Kournikova, New Trainer on The Biggest Loser

more pics and videos on my blog: Anna Kournikova Interviews For The Biggest Loser Fairways And Forehands

Former world #8 singles player and 2-time Major doubles champion Anna Kournikova is one of two new trainers on the hit weight loss show, The Biggest Loser. Anna still looks like she is in tremendous shape. Unfortunately, over the years Anna has been criticized for all of her sponsorship deals and fame while lacking a WTA singles title. I always try to point out that she has 16 doubles titles. And for those who say she often paired with Martina Hingis, I would say that she also has several titles with other partners. Furthermore, being the 8th ranked player in the world at one time and a Wimbledon semifinalist in singles is nothing to be ashamed of. If sponsors paid her more than her results warranted, then that’s their fault, not hers. And remember, sponsors want to sell product. They want stars. Superstars, if possible. If Kournikova’s looks were as important, or even more important, than her play then so what? It’s because of that stardom that Anna can still market herself outside of tennis long after her career is over.

Ask Enrique Iglesias...he'd knocked her a couple of times!

Yes, I have...but I must say, a lot of tennis players look even better in person than on tv...I don't know about being the hottest pro athlete ever...only because everybody has their own favorites...but with a former Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza, Anna is definitely holding her own...

And more than a pretty face, she is a bit of a pioneer for other Russian female players. Here is an article a few years back where players like Anastasia Myskina and Svetlana Kuznetsova talk of her influence. Don't be put off by Maria Sharapova's snippy comments..."it's Maria time"...Masha has always been a bit...rough on the edges...she can be snippy and tempermental at times...and she has long sought to distance herself from Anna...I understand early in her career when she didn't want to be linked to a player who never won a singles event, but like Svetlana and Anastasia, both Major winners, you can give Anna credit while still forging your own identity...although Myskina seemed to fall off the edge of the earth not long after her Roland Garros win...here is the article: More than just a pretty face, Anna Kournikova has inspired - 07.05.04 - SI Vault

Sharon Osbourne and Anna at the same AIDS benefit

In poker, Ace/ king is often referred to as an Anna Kournikove. It looks good, but never wins.
