Sick or Injured?

What is going on with this gal? For the second time this season Paula withdraws from a tournament. I understand she has been ill, some sort of stomach trouble. She withdrew from the Phoenix tournament because of it and nowWegmans after the first round. Or is there an injury? Don't know how she will compete in the Solheim Cup if this keeps up...........

The announcers on TV said she had a thumb injury. It's possible that with the Open two weeks away she withdrew to avoid making it worse.

During Thursday's round, she was shown with a splint/brace sort of thing on her left thumb. It was evident from her facial expressions that she was in a lot of pain. No point in injuring it further.

There was no information about what had happened to cause the injury.
