Morgan Number 3

I know that Morgan's clothing sponsor is Polo Ralph Lauren.

Does anyone know the significance of the number 3 that is on the sleeve of her shirts?

The 3 is part of the Ralph Lauren logo. It's not unique to Morgan's shirts. Rumor has it that it's because Ralph has three kids, but I don't know if that's true. There was also a rumor a long time ago that if you play a certain Beatles record backwards it says "Paul is Dead" and that wasn't true.

Hmmm....thanks for the info.

I have Ralph Lauren shirts, but not POLO Ralph Lauren. Mine have a discreet "RL" on either the cuff of the sleeve or on the chest. As I said, they aren't Polo and aren't golf shirts.

I wouldn't have bought them if they'd had a huge honkin' 3 on the sleeve. I'm superstitious about the number 3 as it pertains to golf.

The following is a quote from someone: "Ralph Lauren has 3 children, his Polo number was 3 and his beloved horse is named Three.
Sometimes you see 67 & 69 those are the years that two of his children were born
Source(s):
I wear a lot of Polo, I found out from a friend of mine that works for Dillan ( RL daughter)"

Another answer: "The number 3 represents the number that the captain of the Polo team typically wears."

I think the 3 is only on the Big Pony style. Maybe this would be better for golf:

I looked up the answer (on Google!) to the number 3 question, it has to do with polo positions. There are four positions. 3 is like the quarterback in football.

OK...thanks for all the info on the 3. Riveting info.

I just read that Morgan dropped the F bomb when those idiots clicked cameras as she was trying to hit out of the bunker. I think I mentioned this in another thread...about the cameras...I didn't catch the F bomb at the time. I did mention that I was happy that Morgan hit a fab shot after all that distraction and I'd wished it had gone IN!

This is from Stephanie Wei's blog .....

America’s golfing sweetheart Morgan Pressel let one of those pesky F-bombs fly in the final round at the Evian Masters. On the 14th hole, Pressel, known for her fiery temper, was set to hit from the greenside bunker. She backed off and frustratedly asked the shutter-happy fans to “please put the cameras away.” But apparently her request was lost in translation.

As she regrouped and stood over the ball, the camera clicking resumed. Her caddie angrily chided, “Enough!” With her hands on her hips, Pressel once again backed off and glared at the gallery, saying, “Are you kidding?! It’s like a f*cking circus.”

“Mon Dieu, Mon Dieu,” as one announcer lamented. (My God, My God in French.) And the other chirped, “We need a little translation, I think.”

Check out the video: LPGA Girl Next Door Calls French Gallery a ?F*@&ing Circus? Wei Under Par

It was a f*@king circus!! Sheesh.

Here we go again with the reason the NO CAMERAS, NO CELL PHONES rule should be enforced. And I might add...NO IDIOTS....but that would likely reduce the gallery by half.

It's pretty easy to ban cell phone and camera use. They have done an effective job of this at US tournaments. I always see a lot of people carrying cell phones at tournaments but I rarely see anyone using them. They understand that it's a disturbance, unlike in Europe.

Banning idiots? That would be a lot harder. A necessary first step will be banning alcohol sales.

Here is where you lose your credibility sometimes, Blue:

A quote from you from the thread, Cell Phones at the Tournaments (Post #57):

She was sending tweets on her Blackberry. Why is it all right for her to do this but not for anyone else? Was it any less obtrusive because she's a writer for a big national publication and I'm just a regular golf fan?
