Morgan can make millions of $ playing a game, and expect to be treated as such (ie feel free to ignore me, Morgan, as every other professional athlete does when I watch them perform).

I?m quietly watching from a good distance away (the only spectator around), and in a voice I can clearly hear Morgan makes an insulting comment about me to her partner! It was the kind of thing I might expect to hear from a high school kid at the mall, but frankly I was shocked to hear it coming from a world class professional athlete. To her credit, Morgan?s partner (who?s only barely out her teens herself) looked embarrassed and ignored the comment.
Interesting. At the Sybase she almost knocked me over leaving the Practice green. I am standing there minding my own business watching everyone practice and she leaves the putting green quickly heading straight for me. If I don't turn quickly out of the way at the last second she is going to collide with me. Remember I am standing still (at the same spot for 10 mins) and she is walking with plenty of room on the other side. I guess it was her sidewalk.

Very interesting posts. I had never heard anything about Morgan being rude to fans, but I don't doubt either of your stories.

That's really disappointing to hear, Carl and xman. I was at Wegmans and as I said I saw a few instances of Morgan (and other players -- notably Maria Hjorth) yelling and slamming clubs when things didn't go her way. And it didn't go over well with the fans there, most of whom are nowhere near as familiar with the players as we are, so this was their first introduction to her. She was also struggling to stop crying before facing the press after the end of round 3. I'm not sure what you mean about dressed for Shea Stadium (Mets hat?) but the players absolutely have to understand that they have millions because we come to tournaments, watch them on TV and buy the products they endorse.

Thanks, DJ, for a positive comment. I was beginning to wonder whether I had misplaced my loyalties. I've always admired her competitiveness, and hadn't heard anything about her being rude to fans. I have, of course, seen the temper a few times, but that, to me, is no different than when an NFL player cries after losing the Super Bowl. Maybe, as you say, she was just having a bad day.

It's so hard to judge these things and make a decision about someone you don't personally know and evaluate a situation you've never seen. I've always tried to put my loyalty with players who don't get all the attention for example: Cristie Kerr. I could say that I don't want her to win because of things she's said or did past but I like to think she's changed. If any of us were watched constantly when we are at work, occasionally we would slip up and say something we shouldn't or grimace or laugh at someone. With Cristie, I just laugh at the mean things she's said or done to other players on the tour. they probably weren't always great to her either. And since she's not my friend of family member it's none of my business. however, I did see drive, commitment, and a dream fulfilled on Sunday by her. Her reaction showed a true, vulnerable human being. It was priceless.

my only contact with Morgan is when she was signing autographs and made a deliberate attempt not to make eye contact with anyone. But as Galugo wrote, not everyone can be Christina Kim.

Thumbs down

OMG, A Morgan Moment. It doesn't surprise me prissy Morgan acts the Lindsay Lohan, although her drama queen antic's beginning to wear thin, very thin. I loved all her drama during the Wie hype years when all the camera was on Wie rather than her. She just couldn't stand the fact that Wie was stealing her camera spotlight.

Angela Park seems very mature for her age. U.S. Open, The birdie putt at 18 was amazing! I nearly fell off the chair.

Read her interview here, sounding very much like a lady?

Sounds like you're a little jealous. Her "drama queen" antics aren't quite as bad as that other "pro" golfer who says her wrist is fine, but then says it hurts everytime she hits a bad shot and finally withdrawals because of the shear agony she's in. I don't like Pressel's crying either, but face it, she's a female. Girls can cry at the drop of a hat. Atleast she's earned her way onto the tour.

And, she has a major to her credit. While I hope this doesn't turn into yet another Wie thread, since it's in Morgan's folder, if we're making comparisons, let's talk wins.
