Good article, as always, Shampi.

By the way, watch out for Danger. On another thread, he's got something going on with Lojo.

And you say > I'm < the one who does the most drinking eh.

Watch out Shampi, Danger is trying to do a Tiger on ya. I know my bro twin like night and day, and he is definitely dark.

Oh Shampoo...

On my bended knees, I'll cross the hottest desert,

I'll climb the highest mountain,

I'll swim the deepest ocean...just to be by your side.

Sincerely,
Dangerloco

PS: Can I come over tonight if it doesn't rain!

This is what happens when there is no tournament.

There is no one of any real "wow" factor amongst the female Mexican golfers now. I'm not sure there's even one PGA player from Mexico.

When SeRi lead the way for South Koreans....it was sustained, and is now with top level players coming out of that country.

If no one from Mexico makes a dent in the LPGA ranks, her legacy will be lost....at least as that aspect of her career is concerned.
Good points LoJo.

Though I do think that once a ball is rolling in a new area, and with all the money attraction many see from it down there.... well, it may just keep rolling for a good while yet.

Another golf star from Mexico would sure do wonders now.... but the only one I see is Tanya Dergal, age 25, and is an LPGA Rookie, unfortunately only with a priority status of 16. We well have to watch how she does on the DFT, if she is even listed on their tour, (I don't know off hand).

It took a bit for South Korea to ramp up into the LPGA, (and Japan & Tiawan & China & Austrailia & New Zealand)... and that pro golf door is wide opened in Mexico for sure.... we shall see if it stays open.

I have this feeling.... that all of Central America, and the Caribbean area, and all the South American countries well have reg stars one day on the LPGA tour. Maybe events in those countrys everywhere to. And we may see the Asian stars, only when the tours meet with open events. But I am looking 5 years down the road.... just my impressions. Hummm.

Now I got myself thinking 'Hey could I be right!'.... sheesh.

On further look at the 2010 LPGA Rookie list.... I see players from Columbia, two of them, (Paola Moreno age 24, PS=16, and Mariajo Uribe only 19 years of age with a PS=11). Paola has already won a DFT event, (the recent Texas Hill Country Classic), and Mariajo was already a rising star, with credentials an arm long. And I believe we have a pro doing well from Brazil as well, on the LPGA. Maybe others also.

Maybe the future LPGA events well all be predominantly American events.... with the odd ones overseas. That could spell the end of the super-long West to East, or East to West plane flights, and the beginning of just long North-South flights. At lest Jet Lag takes a back seat.

Also read your blog, Shampi. Nice stuff. Thanks for reminding me how much fun having Lorena around to watch was.
Hey, thanks a bunch... here's the link to the post with Lorena's autobiography info EVEN PAR: Lorena Ochoa's autobiography
