This event will help Lorena Ochoa Foundation, since all the money raised will be donated to that institution. The title sponsor is the International Bank of Commerce (IBC Bank). |

And while most of the participants will be invited, there are spots available in the tournament. Those interested can buy a foursome for $5,000. LPGA legend Ochoa brings attention to San Antonio golf

I really think Lorena should play in Mexico, I mean, it's our country's 200th Anniversary of Independence. Just a thought!

I don't understand your comment. You have something against her playing in the USA?

Not at all, what I meant was that she's playing to celebrate Mexico's Independence, right? so I think it would be more suitable to do so in her country, that's it. Nothing against the States, ultimately, she became the player she is after playing for the Wildcats, and then becoming a Futures and LPGA member.

The event also coincides with the Bicentennial of the Independence of Mexico (1810) and the Centennial of the Mexican Revolution (1910). Nevertheless, The Battle of the Alamo has more to do with Texas Revolution and its anexation to the States, than to the Bicentennial and Centennial. In other words, it's important in our history BUT it's not totally connected to the Independence or the Revolution. Mexican authorities won't spare no expense in celebrating all over teh country. Stiil, I think Las Americas Golf Tournament and everything surrounding the event will be great |
