DYKER HEIGHTS — Tuesday, LPGA Champion Cristie Kerr joined more than 50 promising junior golfers for a free instructional clinic at City Parks Foundation’s state-of-the-art Junior Golf Center in Brooklyn. Kerr spoke about her experience and climb to the top of the golf world, took questions from the juniors, and then joined the junior golfers to practice chipping and putting.

Kim Madden, one of the junior golfers and a rising senior at St. Joseph’s Hill Academy, was on hand for the event and was ecstatic to be in the presence of Kerr. “She’s my favorite pro golfer, and I look up to her as a role model, so to have her at this event means a lot to me,” said Madden.

Interesting side note, that is where Earl Woods started playing golf when he was in the army at Ft Hamilton (right next to the golf course).
