Then how did you quote him?

Sorry, folks. I didn't mean to let a congratulatory thread degenerate to another arguement with Boola.

When I volunteered at the Giant Eagle, I always found Cristie to be as friendly as most. She always thanked me for helping with the tournament, and gave me an autographed golf ball on the last day. Maybe you caught her on a bad day.

Boola, we've been looking for you at the Webb vs. Wie thread. What happened did you get lost? Afraid to face the music? What happened to your girl? Have you ditched Ms. Wie for your fantasy girl Cristie?

Boola, I know what thread it is. I started it, in case you didn't notice.

You're one to talk about mentioning other players. Man, that double standard just keep going.

They talk about some of the ladies being grinders but CK was not on the top of her game this week and she fought her way through it. Her putting was superb. The birdie on 14 was great but when she drove the trap on the dog leg and Ochoa put it in the woods was the turning point. She went out and took this one .

I was looking at that the other day. It actually seems quite rare for a player to win majors back-to-back.

For first time major winners, it's even harder. I'd guess r/t the emotional response, the newfound level of attention and demands on time.....plus people tend to relax for a bit after a big accomplishment.

I would be happy to see Christie win the British, but it would take very favorable odds indeed to get my money down on it.

Christie's par putt on 16, I think it was, also was huge..............Then as you say, she put the pressure squarely on Lorena with her drive on 17, and that was it.

Some people will chime in about Lorena choking, but that wasn't the case. Very simply, Cristie won.

I think it takes a special player to win many more tournaments if she wins the us open early in her career. It must mean so much more to Cristie knowing she had to wait and work for it and seize it at just the write moment. Now that she's won this I think she will continue to win. For Birdie and Hilary the pinnacle came so quickly to them. I'm certain there is little to strive for after you've won the tournament that you dream about your whole life at such an early stage of your career.

Excellent post about players, in any sport really, who find great success early.

You hear players in team sports, who may have won the Stanley Cup or played in the Super Bowl in their rookie year, say they figured they would be back to that level regularly in their careers....................but many never get there again.
