| Great American Champion Cristie bided her time and let the attention go elsewhere knowing that if you win that's all that matters. A truly great championship and champion. Perfect ending. |

CONGRATULATIONS to Cristie!...........the way she withstood the preasure coming down the stretch was AMAZING..........and the confidence she had on those 5 to 7-foot par putts was another admirable strong point........and we still have to give credit to her driving........especially coming down the last few holes.........she WANTED this first major........and almost made it look too easy on the 18th........until she broke down with emotion after tapping in that final putt........way to go Cristie.......she should be in great shape now at the Ricoh Women's British Open at St. Andrews.........coming up in a month......winning back-to-back majors........would seem quite within her reach now.....

That's an awesome headline for Cristie. She's probably going to have a bit of a let down. I really hope she steps up and becomes a leader on the tour. There was a lot of fate involved with this US Open. Cristie and Angela Park will forever be linked much like Hilary Lunke and Angela Stanford. My buddy and I followed Cristie around a bit at the LPGA Championship. You could see her honing this new system of preparing for each shot. She was incredibly focused in her final round playing with Giulia Sergas and basically no spectators. Admire the focus and drive. (by the way... did anyone else catch Hilary playing five months pregnant and wilting in the heat???) |

| Cristie's Win.
Isn't it great to be just happy for a player and not worrying about Wie or anything else. If the announcers were correct, it was only the 7th win for an American in the last 26 years. Congratulations Cristie, good job Lorena, Morgan, Angela, Se Ri et all.

That's exactly it. I'm just ecstatic for her. No drama, no rulings, no funny business...just good solid golf and a win fair and square for our top American player.

You're right Greg ,Cristie gets overlooked a lot with all these young stars of today. She has always been pretty good and I've always thought she was probably the best American golfer for years. She should be a solid number 4 after tomorrows rankings and the hard work is really paying off.

That was a great tournament by Cristie Kerr and a well deserved win. Congratulations on her first Major. She is a GREAT golfer. That being said....I have seen Cristie at many tournaments as well, she is NOT FAN FRIENDLY !!!!!!! She is a great golfer who has an arrogant attitude, who I have seen get nasty with adoring fans, and also be rather snippy with children. You can chalk this up to being focused if you would like, but I say that is a cop out. Cristie is probaly the best American woman golfer in the world, and I would love to root for her...with that personality it is not happening!! |

I think they said it's the 6th win for an American in the last 27 majors, not the last 27 years. Up until the late 1990s, Americans won almost all the LPGA tournaments.
