Wiefan.........could you please use words other than BUZZ and BUZZER.....
I have been both since looooonnngg before MW was born....Tiger,too, for that matter. The only thing longer than my use of Buzz/Buzzer is your post. Wiefan, thy name ain't brevity, but I do like your intestinal fortitude....and your loyalty to MW.

Wow!...I just wanted to get some discussion started.I didn't think that it would get like this. This is actually one of the most interesting discussions I have ever been involved in.But I do have a couple of questions to ask.

xman5:You said it was $350 to play Sawgrass at any time.Is the course open to the public and do you need a tee time in advance?...That would be a blast to play, just once.

wiefan:I know your ears perk up when Carolyn gets into the discussion, and I expected you to respond.I did not expect to read a novel. But I must admit, you bring up some great points, and I'm amazed by your thought into it.My question for you is quite simple...How long did it take you to type all that?...It took me about 20 minutes to read.

Hi ya everyone....I feel like a psychic....I just knew that Marinepaul would chime in with his usual "sarcasim.....just as I knew that DetreoitDan would espress his comments....believe it or not....because I Used the Buzzer word...I even knew that thias would catch Buzzer's attention....I don't know what it is, but everytime I talk about Carolyn, it somehow seems relevant that Wiesy's actions or non-action sort of come to the forefront...I admit that I sometimes (?) get carried away when I start rambling and typing....but what can I do....I am "addicted" to this site.....and whenever anyone starts bashing someone and that peticular someone isn't here to present her side of the facts or if I think all of the facts are not yet known....then I like to point that out to the Bashers....it is NOT correct to call anyone an "IDIOT"....they are in a high paying position for a reason....if you call a commissioner an Idiot, then in the same breath you are calling all those that elected this person to the job an "Idiot" also....then I guess you can scroll down further and you might as well call everyone that raised these people an "Idiot" also....but you gotta watch out because sooner or later, it will start catching up to someone in your neighborhood and then you will become an "Idiot" target....this domino effect theory also work with Politicians and those that elect them

anyway....the next time I type a long response, I just might Time myself....but that won't work, because I usually eat a meal, use the restroom, grab a snack, play a hand of Texas Holdem, etc, before I click on the reply/send button.....NOT!!!....just kidding folks

one thing I forgot to mention about all of this....you have to understand that MW, because of her IMMENSE MEDIA PRESENCE, is not like your normal upcoming young future LPGA player with a good golf game.....MW is a "Needle Mover" whether you like it or not....EVERY Tournament that she has played in has proven this for a fact....you might not like it....but the curoiusity and fascination aspect is there....the kid is here and she is causing all kinds of status quo changes....take for example the old LPGA Board and this site....they actually had to CREATE a folder just for her to control the action....if you visit the GolfChannel discussion board, outside of Tiger, MW dominates all of the conversation....so I ask anyone of you....is this a "No-Brainer" as to WHO should the LPGA exploit for their own gain....the LPGA should be exploiting this little girl, just like Wiesy exploited the LPGA for her earlier exposure....you cannot keep closing your eyes and not see how MW's Presence in other LPGA Tournaments could and will help your causes....this 6 exemptions stuff is foolish and not with the Growing times of today....it started at 4....then went to 6...so why not 8....you can stop there because the LPGA Minimum Requirement is 10 as a member

I like Wiesy Golf....But I also Like the LPGA....if Team Wie can take advantage of the LPGA for their own purpose....then I say the LPGA and Carolyn has every right to do the same thing for their benefit and gain....but for GOD'S SAKE....Wiesy's NOT Playing, just hurts BOTH SIDES....BULLYING Wiesy will not work as she has a lot of options at her disposal....but a sensible compromise could very well make Winners of both sides....but the LPGA will have to bite the bullet in some OLD STATUS QUO ideas.....just like Wiesy will have to bite the Bullet and play in some "Not so High Profile" Tournaments

anyway....all of you have a good day....see ya!!

Back to the topic .. explain to me again why the LPGA will not play the TPC at Sawgrass? I didn't understand. I think it would be an awesome locale.

Hi ya Blue....I guess it goes back to Post #4 of Buzzer's.....he said "I'd like to see it, too, MP.....but the ownership (PGA) would never allow it with Finchem there........"

Perhaps Buzzer would comment on his reasoning....I mean this is NOT Augusta National where Hootie and the Boys control....or maybe it is sort of like the same type of network of people.....

I think a LPGA Tournament held there would be awesome for the players and the LPGA itself

anyway...have a good day....see ya!!

It would be an awesome locale for them to play.I too would like to see it.That course demands good course management, and it would be very interesting to see how the LPGA players would do there.

I don't know who would shoot the best, but it would seem to favor the shorter, more accurate drivers on tour. The fairways are pretty narrow on most of the holes(I play Tiger Woods PGA Tour,BTW) and demand straight drives to reach the green in regulation.

The 17th could prove to be a pivital hole, especially in a windy 4th round. It is tricky hitting that green with no wind,it would be really tough with a 15-20 mph breeze blowing.

Wink

Wiefan.....my comment was based on a story I read, written by a golf writer in a golf magazine, about the time the new LPGA commissioner came into office. In it he said something to the effect that Tim Finchem would like the LPGA to just go away. I can't remember what mag or writer....but it was not Sirak or GolfWeek Magazine, because I save those. I could have read it in a doctors or dentists waiting room because I don't subscribe to any mags but Golf Digest and GolfWeek. Someone else on this board mentioned it in passing, but there was no great hull-a-baloo about it at the time, as I recall.

I, too, would like to see an LPGA tournament at that venue, but remembering that remark leads me to believe it won't happen. As I recall it, the opinion, as written, was the authors, not mine, and possibly not Finchems. Because of my status as a retiree, time affords me the opportunity to read almost everything written about golf; newspaper articles, mags and blogs. I have a tough time remembering who won what tournament months ago, so I save GolfWeek for the stats, etc. Anyway, I wrote that with the thought in mind that others would know what I meant. It was not meant to be a knock per se.

I think I'm missing something here. Does the PGA own the TPC at Sawgrass or all the TPC clubs?

More like psycho. You don't need Bivens being discussed to bring MW into the conversation. That just seems to open a door for you.

Detroit, Finchem's "just go away" comment is another example of his arrogance. The TPC at Sawgrass won't be an LPGA venue because of his attitude.
