After watching the Open at Royal St. Georges in southern England with their cool weather, can't wait for Carnoustie.

Maybe they have a local rule on the number of shots you are allowed to attempt in a trap? Otherwise a player could be there for a very long time.

Has anyone on the board played some of these famous courses? Do they have multiple sets of tees? If I were to ever get to play them, I would not really want to play them at full length. But maybe they are so famous that "whips" just should suck it in. I know St. Andrews for the women was shorter than for the men.

I am having trouble getting an actual scorecard for Carnustie where I would look at the length from various tees. I will keep looking.

Good point. I found this..

Slope of 145 does sound realistic.
