I voted for my Morgan...she will be the surprise player of the year 2009! (Morgan Pressel, that is!)

Go Morgan Go!

I think that a new rivalry will be born this year between Lorena and Ji Yai. I hope people take the time to look into what an amazing player Ji Yai has been over the last few years. I fully expect her to win the money title, POY and earn the number one spot on the rolex rankings at some point in her career. Something Se Ri Pak, or any other Korean for that matter. has never managed to do. Thus in doing so I think Ji Yai is gonna bust down another door as far as media impact in Korea.

What are you talking about? Se Ri Pak dominated the LPGA in the late '90's and early 2000! The reason for the influx of Korean women golfers in the U.S.A. If not for Se Ri Pak...Ji Yai Shin probably won't even be here! If not for Se Ri Pak...the Danger won't be posting here! She is the reason I started watching women's golf!

The biggest rivalry this year will be between Morgan Pressel and Michelle Wie! And Morgan will shade more tears...not because she will be outplayed by Michelle Wie...but because she will win more tournaments, some of them majors!

Se Ri never didn't win POY, ROY and the money title in the same year. In fact she never won either POY or the money title. Shin has a real chance of winning all three in 09 if she plays like she did in 08. The question is can she keep up the same level of play as a full-time LPGA player that she had as part-time player?

DB, I also got interested in the LPGA because of Se Ri, and there's no question that she paved the way for the influx of Korean players now on tour. Still, I can see some of the younger having better careers.

Here's a thought: How about voting for the player whose play lends support for the nod instead of just the poster's favorite.

It's no wonder some posts receive such ridicule.

Yup. POY is based on real quantifiable playing stats, not popularity, personality or beauty. That's why Anna Rawson and Natalie Gulbis are not included this year.

I still think Lorena will get POY in 2009. She is the only player who even when not playing at 100% will still finish in the top 10. Lore is constantly at the top, and when her game comes together (putting, driving, etc) there is no one else.

Are you talking to me Cleo? This is a democratic board and everyone have to express their own opinion. Golf is a funny game...even the best of the best falters sometimes. So if you pick your favorite, you hope that she excels for the coming year. And that's my hope for My Morgan!

Even though I think Ji Yai Shin will win the ROY!
