Contests: Joint 3rd place overall winner 2009.
| What was the biggest event of 2009? This is not what was the biggest story in the media or on discussion boards, but what you think was most important. Events are listed in mostly chronological order |

I think Anna Nordqvist winning a major in her rookie year, then capping it off with a victory at the tour championship was the biggest story of the year. Although my favourite was Ai Miyazato winning the Evian... Pax Vobiscum Saint-Just X |

Jiyai opened a lot of eyes. Her story in general was huge.

Might not have been the biggest surprise, but the ouster of Bivens was a huge move with longterm ramifications.

I picked Anna N. winning a major in her sixth LPGA event and then backing it up with her play the rest of the year and at the Tour Championship. Although, the LPGA Tour struggling financially has the biggest long-term implications. If Michael Whan can't turn this around, the LPGA may not live to see its 65th birthday. |

The ladies taking control of their own tour and ousting an egotistical know-nothing commish was huge. But, on the golf course, Anna Nordqvist was the best golf story.....won a major, a tour championship and never missed a cut. Pretty nice year for a rookie......a true rookie. Viva Annika |

what Buzzer said. The players revolt was the most important but Anna, who may prove to be a dominant player soon, winning two prestigious events so quickly (and without the media hype ) suggests a European player possibly filling Annika's shoes. I might have listed Michelle Wie's win second but with her continued apparent reluctance to fully support the tour, I think her importance is diminished.
