I'm New Here - Any UK LPGA Fans

Hi all, I'm new to golf, I'd like to ask if there are any UK fans of the LPGA on here? I'm sure there must be somewhere. Although I've never played the game it fascinates me. My brother gave me his old set of clubs last year for my birthday, though I've never used them cos I've never played. I'm a big fan of tennis, especially the WTA, and I think it's a shame that women's golf doesn't receive the same recognition. I'd love to get into the sport and start following it seriously and maybe attend a few tournaments. Trouble is I don't know the first thing. Anyone care to explain the basics to this budding fan?

Welcome Plasticomo, I 'm sure there are.
I'm a hillbilly from Arkansas.
We do have a load of fun here.

Saint is a UK fan, I think. Welcome to the site. I'm sure you can get some insight into the LPGA if you hang around.

Yep,I'm English.

If you're interested in getting to know more about the LPGA and women's golf, the next two weeks is as good a place as any to start. Two big events, the Evian and the Women's British Open, both live on our TV,both featuring all the top names in the game.

This is another good site to visit to keep yourself updated as to what's happening in the game.

Stick around this board, you'll get plenty of insight (or should that be 'incite'?) about the sport and its players.

Welcome aboard, and don't be shy about expressing an opinion...

St J, what channel is the Evian on? I can't find it in my TV guide. Lots of Euro men and Senior Open, but no women.

Good suggestions for Plasticomo to start off following the Evian and WBO. If you're anywhere near Southport, try to get to Royal Birkdale and watch them live!

Heddwyn, the Evian is on Sky Sports 3 via the red button.

It's on,live,from noon-ish,all four days.

Ah, the good old red button. I have Sky Sports so I'll try it, it should work though I'm with Virgin not Sky.

I'm assuming you folks in the UK get to see the tournament (Evian) live, do you at least get more than 2 hours of coverage? We here in the States not only get it extremely tape delayed, but also only get 2 hours of TV time.

Yes,we've had hours and hours of live coverage each day.

Looking at today's tee-times,we should get at least four hours of live coverage.

The other side of the coin, though,is that we don't get to see all the events you get to watch in the States...

Hours of coverage IF you take Sky TV's sports package. As stated elsewhere, I am with Virgin Media, pay extra for Sky Sports, but they don't support the way St J was able to watch the Evian. Anyone without cable or satellite was totally out of luck.
