If it's true that she took her own life...all I can say is what a waste of youth, talents and beauty! She probably didn't realized how lucky she was to have those qualities at such a young age. But we will never know what was in her mind and her problems were, unless we were in her shoes. Like they say, "Never judge an Indian unless you've been in his moccasin!"

Mel Blasberg's first statement about suicide was reported in the local Riverside County paper that Wikipedia cites. It's a credible source, even though Wikipedia itself is not always credible. Since then his statement has been picked up nationally. It wasn't strange at first that it was only reported in the local paper. He only talked to the local paper.

It sounds like the police may have said something off the record to Mel about a suicide but he doesn't believe it.

That is a very poor choice of words by the writer. It implies something that was never said.

All that was said was:

Henderson Police Spokesperson Keith Paul would only say a death investigation is ongoing, confirming what he said on Monday

Yeah below is normally the case.

"Others with knowledge also state that final toxicology and autopsy findings probably won't be available for 2-4 weeks

What makes it unusual is that a 25 year old person does not suddenly just drop dead. Thats why they want to investigate completely and not say anything.

However it turns out it is just a sad situation. We all feel sorry for the family.
