I think that if she makes the cut and earns a few bucks that her debut will be considered a success.

You might consider just making the cut to be a success but we all know that Alexis is not going to be happy just making the cut.

How about on Thursday, the first round starts on Friday.

Thompson’s father said his daughter’s maturity convinced him she is ready. At last year’s LPGA Navistar Classic, Thompson followed a strong first two days (65-69) with a rough third round (74). But her even-temperament and strong will left an impression.

“I told her after, ‘You handled that like a champ,’ ’’ her father said. “And I told her, ‘You’re going to have some bad rounds out there, and you’re going to have to learn to deal with it.’ She’s gotten very good at that.’’

There doesn't seem to be much interest in Alexis' first event as a pro on various golf message boards including this one.

Does anyone know why?
