She does not get automatic membership in the LPGA, which would only be for one year anyway, not for multiple years. The reason she does not get an automatic membership into the LPGA is that one criteria for membership in the LPGA is that the player must be over 18 unless a special waiver is granted. Even if she wins a tournament or passes Q-school, she still has to be 18 unless an age waiver is granted. Depending on the individual rules set by the Shoprite LPGA organizers, the winner, whether an LPGA member or not may qualify for a sponsor exemption into the 2011 tournament. However, she will not win, so we don't have to worry. |

Blue, While I agree with you that it is unlikely for Alexis to win this year, I think it is in the realm of possibility that she can win enough money the rest of the year to be equal to T80 or better on the LPGA tour money list. T80 or better is another way she can gain LPGA tour membership, that is of course, if Smiley Whan grants an age exemption. What do you think Blue, is T80 or better doable for Alexis?

T80 or better might be doable. I don't know what exemptions she has lined up. This week is a good start. A $1.5 million purse and only three rounds is a nice opportunity to open with. Last edited by Blue; 06-15-2010 at 07:27 PM. |

Are you saying that you think she will win this year?

It's at Pebble Beach. For the record,I think she'll finish about T-27th... Pax Vobiscum Saint-Just X |

No. She won't win. I think she will get in the top 80 on the money list if she can get her full complement of exemptions. The US Open doesn't count so she still has two open slots. But there is a lot unknown. She is a top player for her age but she is not a top player when compared with everyone else on the LPGA. She's in the big leagues now and I expect her performance to be about what it has been in her previous LPGA tournament outings, or a little worse given the added pressure of being a pro. Here are her recent finishes in LPGA events 2010 Kraft Nabisco T24 (15 shots back) 2009 Navistar Classic T27 (12 shots back) 2009 U.S. Women's Open T34 (11 shots back) This record does not indicate someone who is on the verge of winning. I have seen her in person a bunch of times and also have concerns about her maturity and mental readiness to be a full-time pro golfer. Very few 15-year-olds are ready for this. For the record, I think she will finish about 33rd this week in Atlantic City. Last edited by Blue; 06-15-2010 at 07:50 PM. |

I don't think its a problem for her but maybe you're correct, we'll see by Sunday night.
