With fewer tournaments, and such depth of fields,it will be difficult for the class of 2010 to land the killer blow.

However,she might.

She was hugely impressive at q-school,has a great collegiate background and could easily be the best American player on the LPGA within the next three years.

As for 2010 : she'll impress, even if she doesn't manage a victory, and she will accrue plenty of points towards automatic qualification for the 2011 Solheim Cup.

Book it...

#7

Dec. 17, 2009 -- Former Duke University women's golf standout Amanda Blumenherst was named one of eight 2010 NCAA Top VIII Award winners. Top VIII award recognizes current student-athletes who have completed their athletics eligibility for their success on the fields and courts, in the classroom and in the community. Blumenherst was a four-time All-America, three-time National Player of the Year and recently won both stages of LPGA Qualifying School to earn her LPGA Tour Card for 2010.

...from Golf Week...

original link: Golf News | Golfweek | Blumenherst wins NCAA Top VIII award

Amanda Blumenherst has become the first Duke athlete in school history to win the NCAA Top VIII Award. The award recognizes student athletes who excelled at their sport as well as in the classroom and in the community.

Blumenherst, who hails from Scottsdale, Ariz., graduated from Duke in May and was a four-time All American. She also was the 2008 U.S. Women’s Amateur champion, and most recently won the final stage of LPGA Tour Qualifying School earlier this month.

Blumenherst joins seven other student athletes in winning the award, and they include Tim Tebow (Florida - Football), Courtney Kupets (Georgia - Gymnastics), Venessa Lee (Pittsburg State - Cross Country/Indoor & Outdoor Track), Jeff Lerg (Michigan State - Ice Hockey), Kent Raymond (Wheaton (llinois) - Basketball), Brittany Rogers (Alabama - Softball) and Sarah Stevens (Arizona State - Indoor & Outdoor Track).

Individuals chosen as Top VIII honorees are selected by the NCAA Honors Committee.
