2010 Rookies : Mina Harigae

.
Lets see now, Pineapple Express from Hawaii has blown into Calgary and the temp outside at midnight is 6 above zero cel, instead of the usual -24 below zero.... Thank you WieFan for blowing it our way. And I have just finished watching this years first episode of American Idol form Boston, and I feel great.... so I well start this off with a bang!. Sorry about the light and dark black text.... sorta got out of hand, and the B's keep disapearing.... go figure. :-)

A M E R I C A N....... D Y N O M I T E

Mina Harigae - her heritage is of her father immigrated to the USA from Japan in 1976, and her mom moved here from Japan when she was 10 years old, other then that Mina is all.....

A ME R I C A N

Take heart all you American fans of American players, another young superstar has arrived at the highest level of golf in the world, (we are starting to get a lot of them on the LPGA Tour. Her name, Mina Harigae, you well not forget soon.

This young lady, (age just 20), has blazed a trail of her own for some time now, Michelle Wie may get more media, but this girl can swing and compete with the long bombers, she has proved it. Mina is 5 foot 6 inches tall, born in California, and into the American Dream. She is a Priority Status of 9, and may just take this tour by storm, we shall see.

In her early years she won, and won, and won, and if she did not win she came dam close. In later years she got even better, and then went to Duke University in California, she did great there to, yet she left after one year to turn pro and to play the Cactus Tour a bit and then just got into the DFT, (Duramed Futures Tour), in 2009, and proceeded to blow everyones mind. Including along the way a Curtis Cup win. :-)

Ha.... enough of me and my exaggerations .... here are some facts. Below you well find 17 articles, (I put them in 5 main links.... calling them A, B, C, etc), and one video, which is actually two videos in one. I well let the numbers, (and letters), speak for themselves.

(1) Here are 3 links, (A+B+C).

[A] Which is a Dec 22 2009, article by Beth Ann Baldry, called 'Ready For The Big Time'. http://www.golfweek.com/news/2009/de...eady-big-time/

[C] Here is a little article of what clubs Mina has in her bag. http://www.tees2greens.com/forums/p/5005/7722.aspx

.................................................. ....................................

(2) Here we have some of her history and background in articles, there are 4 of them, (A+B+C+D).

[A] This is a very good and very long article written in 2002 by Kelley King, and is called 'Friendly Fire'. When Mina was just 12 years old, in grade six, and only 90 lbs. It is 3 pages long, (click arrows below article). http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vau...5754/index.htm

This an early article written in April 2003, by Elizabeth Britt, called 'Big Things In Small Packages'. http://www.juniorlinks.com/print.cfm?aid=194

[C] This is an article written in 2003 by David Shefer, USGA. He talks about Mina Harigae the other 13 year old making noise at the WAPL 2003, and calls it 'Under The Radar Screen', (some of it is a repeat of Kelley King's article above). http://www.uswapl.org/2003/results/harigae_feature.html

[D] This is another article by David Shefer, which he wrote in 2003, called 'Small Frames'. http://www.usgirlsjunior.org/2003/re...allframes.html

.................................................. ..............................................

(3) This is an article 2007 when Mina wins the WAPL Championship. http://www.uswapl.org/2007/news/Satu...DB_OEM_ID=4200

.................................................. ...............................................

(4) Here is 2 links about Mina in 2008, (A+B).

[A] Bio from Duke. http://www.goduke.com/ViewArticle.db...&Q_SEASON=2008

Also From Duke, an article by USGA ask 18 questions of Mina. http://www.goduke.com/ViewArticle.db...ATCLID=1480035

.................................................. .................................................. ...

Sorry about the mess.... not good at doing this stuff.... this is the end of part one of Mina Harigae, hope it all makes some sense, part 2 is next. :-)

This is part 2 of Mina Harigae (too long as one part).
.................................................. .................................................. ...

(5) Here are 6 articles (A+B+C+D+E+F), some short, others longer.... all in 2009.

[A] This is from Mostly Harmless and is a good article, (click the link for the Duke Press Release). Mostly Harmless: Look for Mina Harigae on the Futures Tour in '09

Is a good article from Lisa D. Mickey, who asks Mina questions on her joining the DFT. Duramed FUTURES Tour - News Room

[C] Article of Mina leads after round one of the Horseshoe Casino Classic. Mina Harigae leads after round 1 of Duramed Horseshoe Casino Classic at Lost Marsh Golf Course

[D] A short article on all 3 of Mina's wins on the DFT. http://www.yardbarker.com/golf/playe..._Harigae/23708

[E] More on her 3 wins on the DFT. http://www.duramedfuturestour.com/2009/W080909.asp

[F] Here the LPGA talks about her No 1 position on the DFT, and asks her questions about her year. http://www.lpga.com/content_1.aspx?pid=22260&mid=4

.................................................. .................................................. .....

[B][B][B](6) Is two videos in one, (on same web page). First is just the teeing off of Mina at the June 2009 ILOVENY Championship. The second vid is an interview down with Mina, (its half way into the vid, and the interviewer is not at her best). :-)

Sorry about the mess.... not good at doing this stuff.... hope it all makes some sense. No more long ones for me. :-)
