Let me ask you folks a question. Why did the LPGA come up with a year ending LPGA Playoffs? They already had the Samsung World Championship and the Tournament of Champions, both world class events featuring nothing but the best. Because there is always something better just around the corner, that's why. A million dollar payoff far outstrips anything those two events have to offer. You can stand pat and not change and before you know it, the world has passed you by.

So you guys and gals can go ahead and laugh at what you think is my expense all you want. Europe used to sneer at American golfers and say their golf was better than ours. Then we started beating them. Europe and America used to sneer at Asian golfers and say that we were better than them. Then they started beating us. There is always something better. Thats why we keep going. If there is nothing better out there, what's the point?

And by the way, the National Hockey League in America regular sells out its arenas for games, and yet most sports shows don't even report scores from the games anymore.

An avid, vocal fan base does not necessarily mean a sport or an event is widely popular or appeals to the general public at large.

Yes, indeed they did bring in the ADT Virginian, then proceeded to totally stuff it up by changing the format.

Virginian as others have already said they have the Lexus Cup and the World Cup, yet players from all over the world do not support either. Yet those who qualify by birth fight for places in their respective Solheim team. Why?

Time for a wake up call Virginian. Check out this site: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/attendance?year=2007

I think you'll find you're a little "off" on your bold statement. Boston and Chicago were in the "original Six" of the NHL and they're pretty much at the bottom of the heap...so don't give me that (geez, what word can I use here) - um, stuff about selling out arenas. The NHL in the U.S. is lucky if they break even year to year. Nice try though.

What does the attendance in the NHL have to do with LPGA tournaments anyway?

And what does this quote of yours mean?

"So you guys and gals can go ahead and laugh at what you think is my expense all you want. Europe used to sneer at American golfers and say their golf was better than ours."

Can you give me some quotes on that? Maybe I was checking NHL stats when that quote from the Euros came out.
