Ai Miyazato Wins Evian Masters...

Ai Miyazato of Japan won the 2009 Evian Masters in a one-hole playoff against Sophie Gustafson of Sweden. It was the 24-year-old Miyazato’s first win on the LPGA Tour. Miyazato and Gustafson tied at 14-under-274 after 72 holes of regulation play. In the playoff on the 18th hole, Miyazato hit her third shot from a greenside bunker to within six feet of the hole, then sank the putt for birdie and the championship. The Evian Masters starts tomorrow at the Evian Masters Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France with first round tee times beginning at 7:00am. The course is a Par 72, playing to 6,373 yards, and overlooks Lake Geneva, the largest freshwater lake in western Europe which stretches out from France across and into neighbouring Switzerland. Eun Hee Ji wins Women’s US Open...

eun hee ji 23 year old Eun-Hee Ji from South Korea has won this year’s Women’s US Open. Ji sunk a 15-foot birdie putt on the last hole of the tournament to win by one stroke over place winner Candie Kung, originally from Taiwan. In-Kyung Kim and Cristie Kerr both placed third (T3). LPGA US Open The 2009 U.S. Women’s Open begins its first round tee off tomorrow at the Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The Course total length is 6,740 yards, Par: 71. Jiyai Shin wins Wegmans LPGA...

jiyai shin Jiyai Shin from Korea is the winner of this year’s Wegmans LPGA tournament. Shin recorded a score of 71 on the final day to win by an impressive seven strokes over 2nd place winners Kristy McPherson and Yani Tseng. Both McPherson and Tseng recorded a final score of 278 or 10 under par for the event. Haeji Kang , Mika Miyazato, and Stacy Lewis tied for fourth, recording scores of 279, or 9 under par. Wegmans LPGA Wegmans LPGA Golf Tournament begins tomorrow, with the tournament being held at Locust Hill Country Club located in Pittsford, New York. The tournaments first round kicks off at 7:30 a.m on Thursday the 25th of June. Wegmans defending champion and 2008 winner Eun-Hee Ji will be returning this year to defend her title and best career win to date. Anna Nordqvist from Sweden was declared the winner of the 2009 McDonald’s LPGA Championship. The tournament was held at the Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Nordqvist carded a score of 68 on the fourth day to secure victory and win her first major championship tournament. Nordqvist recorded scores of 66, 70, 69, 68 respectively to finish at 15 under par for the tournament. Eunjung Yi 21-year-old Eunjung Yi from South Korea won the tournament this year. There was a lot of excitement and the unexpected for fans in the final round, as Morgan Pressel who started the final round four shots behind Yi ended up trailing by six shots after Yi made birdies in the first couple of holes.
