Michelle Wie went wire-to-wire to secure her second LPGA Tour win and a winner’s check for $337,500 on August 29 at the CN Canadian Women’s Open, held this year at the St. Charles Country Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Wie opened up the tournament with a score of 65 and went on to hold off former world number 1 and 2009 Rookie of the Year and Money List leader Jiyai Shin, with whom she had shared the 54-hole lead, for a three-stroke victory margin.

It was Wie’s first top-ten finish since she tied for 5th at the Sybase Matchplay Championship in May. The win moved her into the top 10 on both the LPGA official money list and on the latest Rolex Women’s Golf Rankings.

Shin tied with Kristy McPherson, Suzann Pettersen, and Jee Young Lee for second place and moved into 1st place on the LPGA official money list.

The Tour returns to action September 10-12 at the P&G NW Arkansas Championship.
