American Meaghan Francella has won this years HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup in a sudden death playoff with LPGA rookie Mariajo Uribe. The Tournament ended with a six-hole sudden death play-off, on the sixth playoff hole Francella rolled in a 10-foot birdie putt to secure victory. The HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup was first played in 2009 and is an international golf exhibition tournament. The tournament has 36 holes played over two days at the Itanhanga Golf Club in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This year’s purse has increased to $700,000 up from $500,000 last year, and the 15 player field in 2009 has been increased to 27 for this years lineup.
